Overview
You can now configure Certification Processes in Mobaro to use Peer Assessments. This allows you to assign a specific team, user group, or individual to review and complete a certification on behalf of others—ideal for supervisor sign-offs, in-field observations, or multi-step evaluations.
How to enable peer assessment
Open the certification process editor
From Certification Processes, create a new certification process. Then expand the Assignees & Reviewers section.
Choose the assessment type
Use the dropdown to select between:
Self assessment (default)
Peer assessment
If you select Peer assessment, you'll be prompted to choose:
Assessors: Who is responsible for evaluating and completing the certification (e.g., the Management Team).
Assignees: Who is being certified (e.g., Water Park Team).
Assign assessors and assignees
Search for and assign one or more Users or User Groups for each.
Tip: For large operations, use user groups like "Supervisors" or "Ride Leads" to simplify assessor management.
optional
Require validation
You can also enable the Require Validation checkbox to add an additional layer of oversight after the peer assessment is completed.
In the mobile app
Once published, assessors will see a new “Assess others” section in their Certification Center, where they can view and complete certifications on behalf of others.
The user being assessed will receive their awarded competency once the assessment is completed by the assigned peer.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can a user complete a certification for themselves and others?
A: Not directly. Mobaro Certification Processes currently allow you to choose either self assessment or peer assessment—not both simultaneously. However, you can build a tiered certification approach by creating two linked certification processes.
For example:
Step 1: A user completes a self assessment (e.g., initial knowledge check).
Step 2: Completion of the self assessment triggers a peer-assessed process (e.g., supervisor sign-off or observation).
Or vice versa:
A peer assessor certifies someone first, which then unlocks a self-reflective or policy acknowledgment step.
Q: Will certifications appear in the mobile app for both assessor and assignee?
A: Yes. Assessors will see assigned certifications under “Assess others,” and assignees will see it under “My Certifications”.
Q: Can I still track who completed which part of the certification?
A: Yes. Certification results will indicate whether it was completed as a self-assessment or peer assessment, including the assessor’s name.
Q: Can I change the assessment type after publishing?
A: No.
