Overview

Locations can be opened and closed via the mobile app to easily track uptime and downtime metrics using the Operations tile.

Users must be Super Users or have the following roles to manage uptime and downtime in the mobile app:

  • Locations: direct/indirect access to location or View

Overview of the Operations tile

The Operations tile on the mobile app lists all locations you have access to which have Operational Logging enabled.

The ring around the tile reflects the operational status of the locations and proportionally adjusts itself to each status' total number. This ring can be comprised of three different colors:

Green

Locations marked as in operation

Red

Locations with an active downtime (both open and blocking downtimes are included in this count)

Grey

Locations marked as out of operation (also known as closed)

Using the mobile app to toggle a location in and out of operation

When clicking into the Operations tile, you will be presented with the following:

  • A list of all locations you have access to with Operational Logging enabled

  • The current Critical for Operation (CFO) status (Ready for operation or Not ready for operation)

  • The current operational status (open or closed)

  • If applicable, the downtime status (open or blocking)

  • Time of current status (in hours and minutes)

For example, when looking at the Air Race, you can see it is currently Not ready for operation based on the red indicator on the left and the location is closed based on the toggle switch on the right.

Next, if we look at the Ferris Wheel Fiesta Balloon, you can see it is currently Ready for operation based on the green indicator on the left and the location is open based on the toggle switch on the right.

Impotant: Opening a location can only be done if the location has no active blocking downtimes and the location is Ready for operation. If both of these conditions are not met, you will not be able to open the location.

Using the mobile app to start a downtime

In addition to tracking uptime, you are able to also track downtime on locations through the Operations tile as well.

To track a downtime on the Operations tile:

  1. Click on the Location name

  2. Enter a description of the downtime

  3. Categorize the downtime

  4. Add any applicable attachments

  5. Click Save

This will open a downtime on the location. Depending on your account's settings, this may or may not automatically create a related work assignment to be completed by a specific team. To enable/disable this feature, navigate to the Configurations page on the Mobaro backend and click on the Downtime tab.

Users must be Super Users or have the following roles to manage downtime assignment creation:

  • Organization: Administrate

When a downtime is created without a related Assignment, the downtime will be considered an Open downtime and can be reopened at any time.

When a downtime is created with an automatically created Assignment, the downtime will be considered a Blocking downtime and the related assignment must be resolved prior to the location being able to be reopened.

Limiting the Operations tile to specific users

Ensuring your uptime and downtime numbers are accurate is important and you may not want full access for everyone that is part of a location to have access to the operations tile.

Users must be Super Users or have the following roles to manage who can manage operational states:

  • Organization: Administrate

You can limit the users who has access to changing operational states by:

  1. Navigating to Configuration on the Mobaro backend

  2. Click the Locations tab

  3. Check Limit location operational state management to (user groups)

  4. Add the applicable user groups

Note: If your organization is enabled for RideOps, users who are part of a location's operators list will be automatically included in the ability to make operational state changes and do not need to be included here.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

  1. Why can't I see the Operations tile on my app?

    1. You may not be able to view the Operations tile for a few reasons. Firstly, check to ensure you have at least one location enabled for Operational Logging. Next, ensure you have access to at least one location with Operational Logging enabled. Finally, ensure your Mobaro app is updated to the latest version.

  2. Why can't I open a location?

    1. Opening a location is conditionally limited to a location that both is Ready for operation and does not have an active blocking downtime; ensure both of these conditions are met. Additionally, ensure you are part of at least one of the user groups if your organization has limits on who can access the operational tile.
