Text element

Add static instructional text to a Checklist — a Text element shows guidance or warnings to the User without asking for an answer.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

A Text element is a static, non-question element that displays text to the User as they complete a Checklist. It captures no answer — its job is to give instructions, context, or a warning at exactly the right point in the flow.

Users must be Super Users or have the following Role to add or edit Checklist elements:

  • Checklists: Modify or Create

Why this matters: Guidance lands best where the work happens. A Text element puts the safety note, the method reminder, or the "stop if you see X" warning right in front of the operator at the relevant step — instead of in a manual they won't open mid-task — without adding a question they have to answer.

Adding a Text element

1. Open the Checklist editor

In the Mobaro Backend, go to Checklists and open or create a Checklist.

2. Add the element

Click Add an element and choose the Text element, then enter the text the User should see.

Best practice: Keep Text elements short and place them immediately before the step they apply to. A long block of text at the top of a Checklist tends to get skipped; a one-line reminder next to the relevant question gets read.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does a Text element require a response?
A: No. It only displays text and doesn't ask the User for anything.

Q: Can I show a Text element only in certain situations?
A: Yes. Apply logic so it appears only on the right day, Location, or after a particular answer.

Q: Does it affect the Checklist's score?
A: No. Text elements don't carry points and don't change the score.
