Overview
You can change your own Mobaro password while you're signed in, or reset it from the sign-in screen if you've forgotten it. Administrators can also set a password for another User, and Super Users can change the passwords of everyone in one or more User Groups at once.

Password requirements
Between 8 and 256 characters.
At least 3 of: a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number, a symbol.
Not a common or blocked password. Mobaro shows That password isn't allowed if it is.
If your organization makes passwords expire, Mobaro asks you to choose a new password when yours has expired.
Change your password while signed in
If you know your current password, you can change it without signing out. The new password works on the web and in the app.
In the Backend: open the menu under your name, choose Change Password, enter your Current Password, your New Password and Repeat Password, then click Change Password.
In the Mobile app: go to Profile › Change Password, enter your Current password, New password and Confirm password, then tap Save.
Reset a forgotten password
1. Request a code
On the sign-in screen, select Forgot password?, enter the email address on your Mobaro user and select Send Reset Code.
2. Enter the code
Mobaro emails you a Reset Code. Enter it and select Validate Code.
3. Choose a new password
Enter your New Password and select Change Password. Then sign in with it.
On the web, you can reach the sign-in screen without ending your session by opening a private or incognito window. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder and make sure you entered the exact address on your user, for example .com and not .co.uk. Set another User's password
Super Users and anyone with a Role with Users › Modify can set a new password for a User who signs in with a password:
Go to Administrate › Users and open the User.
Tick Change Password and confirm with Yes.
Enter the new Password. The requirements are shown as you type.
Tick Force user to change password at next login so the User picks their own private password, then save.
⚠️ Heads-up: You can't set a Super User's password, even as a Super User. If a User belongs to several organizations, you need permission to manage Users in all of them. See How do I troubleshoot login issues or disabled accounts in Mobaro?.
Change passwords for whole User Groups
Only Super Users can do this, even if someone else's Role has Users › Modify.
On Administrate › Users, click Change password for users in groups (the key icon).
In Mass password change, choose one or more User Groups. Untick any members you want to leave out. Also untick other Super Users, and Users who belong to another organization where you can't manage Users: if the selection includes them, the whole change is refused.
Choose Generate a random password for each user or Use the same password for all users. A shared password needs at least 8 characters.
Click Change passwords and keep the window open until it finishes.
Mobaro downloads a CSV file with every new password and shows how many changes succeeded or failed. Users who sign in with SSO are skipped.
🛑 Critical: A mass password change can't be undone. Every included User's current password stops working at once, and they must choose a new one the next time they sign in. The downloaded CSV lists the new passwords in plain text: store it securely and delete it once you've handed the passwords out.
Single sign-on users
If you sign in with your company account (SSO), your password is managed by your company, not Mobaro. Change Password and Forgot password? don't apply to you. Ask your IT team. See Controlling SSO access with user groups.
Best practices
When you set a password for someone, always tick Force user to change password at next login.
For mass changes, prefer Generate a random password for each user so no two Users share a password.
Keep each User's email address up to date, so they can reset their own password.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change my password?
If you know your current password, use Change Password in the menu under your name in the Backend, or Profile › Change Password in the app. If you've forgotten it, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen.
How do I reset a worker's password?
Open them in Administrate › Users, tick Change Password, enter a new password, tick Force user to change password at next login and save. You need to be a Super User or have a Role with Users › Modify.
I'm signed in but don't remember my current password. What do I do?
Changing your password needs the current one. Open a private or incognito window, or sign out, then use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen to get a Reset Code by email.
I get "An unknown error occured" when I reset my password. Why?
The reset didn't go through. Check you entered the exact email on your user. If you sign in with SSO, reset your password with your company instead. Otherwise, ask a Super User or your manager to set a new password for you.
I have Users › Modify but can't change the password for a whole group. Why?
Changing passwords for whole User Groups is limited to Super Users. With Users › Modify you can still set passwords one User at a time.
