Overview
Each User chooses the language Mobaro's screens are shown in, and how dates, times and temperatures appear. These are personal settings on your user, so they follow you across the Backend, the Mobaro app and every organization you belong to. Until you personalize them, you see your organization's defaults.

⚠️ Heads-up: If a Super User has ticked Only allow administrator to make changes on your profile, these settings are greyed out in the Backend and hidden in the app. Ask a Super User to change them for you.
Change your language
1. Open your profile
In the Backend, click your name at the top right and choose Edit Profile. In the app, tap your profile picture on the home screen.
2. Pick a language
In the Backend, choose from Language in the Profile panel and click Save. In the app, tap Preferred Language and pick one under Select a Language.
It's one setting: a language chosen in the app is saved to your user and used in the Backend too, and the other way round. The app sends the change once it's online.
Which languages are translated
The list offers 32 languages, because it's also used for Checklist translations. Mobaro's own screens are translated into 15 of them: Chinese, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. If you pick another language, Mobaro's screens show in English.
Checklists follow your language only if someone has translated them into it; otherwise they show in their primary language. While completing a Checklist in the app, you can switch with Select Language. See Completing a checklist in the Mobaro mobile app.
Change date, time and temperature
You set these in the Backend, in Edit Profile. The app uses the same date format, clock and temperature unit. First Day of Week applies in the Backend only.

Click Save. To go back to your organization's defaults, untick the box: Current Format then shows the organization's format.
Your formats apply to dates and times on the web and in the app, and to PDF reports you download. Your temperature unit is where Temperature questions start when you record a reading, and the unit you see limits in.
In the Mobaro app
Preferred Language is your user's language, as above.
Preferred Locale offers American (weeks start on Sunday) or European (weeks start on Monday) for the app's calendars, on that device only. It doesn't change how dates and times are written. The app currently applies your choice only until it's closed: after a restart, calendars start on Monday again.
You can't set date, time or temperature formats in the app. Change them in the Backend.
In RideOps
A RideOps tablet shows the signed-in Operator's language, if RideOps is translated into it. Otherwise it uses the Location's Language, set in the Location editor, and then English. Anyone at the tablet can switch language for the moment under the RideOps logo › Language; RideOps goes back to the Operator's language when the Operator changes or the app reloads.
Organization defaults
New Users start in your organization's default language, and Users who haven't personalized their formats see the organization's date, time and temperature formats. Mobaro sets these defaults: ask your CSM or Mobaro Support to change them.
Best practices
Set each new User's Language when you create them, so their first sign-in is already in the right language.
Set the Language on Locations with RideOps tablets to the language most Operators there use.
Translate the Checklists your teams use into their languages; the interface language alone doesn't translate Checklist content.
Leave formats on your organization's defaults unless you need something different, so reports read the same for everyone.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change the language to English?
In the Backend, click your name › Edit Profile, choose English in Language and click Save. In the app, tap your profile picture › Preferred Language › English. Either one changes both.
Why is everything in Norwegian when I never chose it?
Your user was created with that language, usually your organization's default. Change Language in Edit Profile or Preferred Language in the app. If the setting is greyed out or missing, a Super User has locked your profile.
How do I turn off military time and use a 12-hour clock?
In the Backend, open Edit Profile › Date and Time Format, tick Personalize settings, untick 24 Hour Clock and save. The app follows the same setting.
Why do dates in a downloaded PDF report look different from what my colleague sees?
A PDF you download uses your own language, Date Format and temperature unit. A colleague with other settings gets 02/03/2026 where you get 03-02-2026. Use the same format, or leave both on the organization's defaults.
How do I set up checklists in more than one language?
Add secondary languages to the Checklist and translate it. Users then see it in their language automatically. See Translate a Checklist.
