Overview
A requisition is the list of materials an Assignment needs and the Warehouses they come from. In Mobaro it shows as Materials on the Assignment. You plan the materials while the work is open. When you resolve the Assignment, you confirm what was actually used, and Mobaro takes that quantity out of stock.
This article covers adding materials to an Assignment in the Backend and the Mobile app, and what happens to stock when you resolve it.

🚀 Early access: Inventory is an early-access feature. Mobaro turns it on for your organization. Until then, Inventory shows greyed out in the Backend menu.
💡 Why this matters: Planning materials on the Assignment ties stock to the work that uses it. Every part used shows in the material’s Stock History with the Assignment it went to, so you can answer "what did this job use?" without a separate log.
How a requisition works
Plan: add each material, the Warehouse to take it from and a Planned Quantity. Planning doesn't change stock, and you can edit it until the Assignment is resolved.
Resolve: when you resolve the Assignment, you review the materials and enter what was actually used.
Consume: Mobaro takes the used quantity out of each Warehouse straight away. It shows in the material’s Stock History as Consumption, linked to the Assignment. There’s no separate approval step.
Locked: after that, the materials are read-only and show both the planned and the actual quantities.
Before you start
Inventory is enabled for your organization. See Setting up Inventory.
The Assignment has a Location. Without one, saving materials fails with Assignment has no location; a requisition requires a destination location.
You can modify the Assignment.
The material has stock in at least one Warehouse. Only Warehouses that hold the material are offered.
Add materials in the Backend
1. Open Materials
Open the Assignment and click the package icon (Requisition) to open Materials. From the Assignments list, you can select one Assignment and click Requisition. Materials can also be added when you create an Assignment.
2. Find the material
Click Add line (+). In Add Material, search for a material by name or SKU, or select a category. Search looks across categories. Choose Uncategorized for materials without a category. Clear the search to return to browsing.
3. Choose the warehouses
Select the material, then use Filter warehouses under Choose Warehouse to find where you want to take it from. Each warehouse shows its quantity. Select one or more warehouses. Check the material’s details and category path to confirm you chose the right item.
4. Review the added materials
Review Added to this assignment. Check each material, warehouse and quantity, remove any unwanted entry, then click Add material(s). Each material and warehouse combination becomes a separate line.
5. Save the plan
Check Planned Quantity on each line and click Save. A planned quantity cannot exceed the available stock shown for that warehouse. Mobaro confirms Requisition saved successfully. Reopen Materials to add or remove lines or change quantities. Saving with no lines removes the requisition.
Record what was used
When you resolve the Assignment in the Backend, the Justification of state change dialog includes Review materials used. Actual Used starts at the planned quantity. Change each line to what was really used, which can be more or less than planned but must be above zero, then click OK. Mobaro shows Requisition fulfillment saved successfully. 🛑 Critical: Recording materials used is one-shot and can’t be undone. After the Assignment is resolved, its materials are locked. Reopening or deleting the Assignment doesn't return the stock. To correct a quantity, use Adjust on the material – see Adjusting and transferring stock.
Materials in the Mobile app
Open the Assignment’s Materials tab and tap Add. In Select a Material, search by name or SKU, or browse the category tree. Then choose the material. Use the search field in Select Warehouse to narrow the warehouses that hold it.
Choose the warehouse, enter the planned quantity and tap Add. To change an existing line, tap it and use Update. When resolving the Assignment, review Planned and Used, and tap each material to change Actually used before finishing.
Picking materials needs a connection. If materials have not loaded, the app shows Materials are not loaded, please wait and try again. You cannot add materials after the Assignment is resolved.
Rules and limits
Each material can appear once per Warehouse on a requisition. To take it from two Warehouses, add a line for each.
Planning doesn't reserve stock. Others can still use or transfer it before you resolve.
Stock can go below zero, for example if the Warehouse was emptied after you planned. See Warehouses and stock levels.
If materials come from several Warehouses, the Stock History shows one Consumption entry for each Warehouse.
Best practices
Add materials when you plan the work, so the Warehouse can prepare the parts.
Check Actual Used against what was really taken before you resolve; it can’t be changed afterwards.
Give every Assignment that uses parts a Location, so materials can be added.
If a quantity was recorded wrongly, correct it straight away with Adjust.
Frequently asked questions
How do I place an order for supplies?
Mobaro doesn't send orders to suppliers. To take parts from your own Warehouses for a job, add them to the Assignment under Materials. The stock is used when the Assignment is resolved.
Can I change the materials after I've saved them?
Yes, until the Assignment is resolved. Open Materials, change the lines and save. Once it’s resolved, the materials are locked.
Why can’t I add materials to this Assignment?
Check that the Assignment has a Location, that you can modify it, and that it isn't resolved yet. If a material has no Warehouse to choose, it has no stock: This material has no stock in any warehouse.
I reopened the Assignment. Why didn't the stock come back?
Reopening doesn't reverse materials that were used. Correct the quantity with Adjust on the material. See Adjusting and transferring stock.
Does adding materials reserve the stock?
No. Stock only changes when the Assignment is resolved. Until then, the planned quantity is just a plan.
