Overview
Assets can be targets for Schedules and Assignments, just like Locations. Instead of scheduling an inspection for a whole Location, you can target the specific ride, piece of equipment or infrastructure that needs it — and raise repairs against that exact Asset.

💡 Why this matters: Targeting Assets puts the work on the equipment, not just the area it lives in. Asset-driven Schedules give you "every coaster gets a daily pre-opening inspection"; asset-driven Assignments give you "this specific ride needs this specific repair" — and both can be filtered by Asset later.
When to target an Asset

Create an asset-driven schedule
Asset targeting works on Calendar Schedules, Continuous Schedules and Ad Hoc Slots. Everything except the Where? section works as it does for Location-driven Schedules — see Calendar schedules — setup and behavior.
1. Set the target type
In the Schedule's Where? section, set Target type to Assets.
2. Pick the Locations, then the Assets
Under Locations, add the Location(s) where the Assets are — these only decide which Assets you can pick. Then select one or more Assets. The Checklist is published for each Asset separately.
3. Save
Finish the rest of the Schedule — Checklists, assignees, timing and compliance — and save.
⚠️ Heads-up: A Schedule targets either Locations or Assets, never both. In Locations mode you can combine Locations, Location Groups and exclusions; in Assets mode you pick Assets only. Switching to Assets clears Location Groups and exclusions; switching to Locations clears the selected Assets.
If you don't see Target type, asset scheduling isn't enabled for your organization. Mobaro turns it on (Scheduling functionality for assets) — ask your CSM.
Create an asset-driven assignment
Asset-driven Assignments put a one-off job — a repair, an upgrade, a follow-up from a failed inspection — on a specific Asset.
1. Start a new assignment
Go to Assignments and click the + icon (Create). Pick an Assignment Definition first if your organization uses them.
2. Choose the Location and the Asset
Select the Location in Applies to (Location). If that Location has Assets, Attach to asset appears — pick the Asset. Choose who does the work in Assigned to (User or User Group) and click Next.
3. Add the details and save
Fill in the title, description, priority and dates, then click the Save icon. See How to create and delegate an assignment.
Who can see asset-driven work
Access to an Asset's work comes from access to its Location. For Assignments, the assignee list only offers Users who have access to the Location, and User Groups with at least one such member. For Schedules, an assignee without access to the Location won't get the Checklist.
Before going live, open Schedule Metrics (Show Details on the Schedule's Results Expected panel): for each Location and Asset it lists the assignees and whether each User can complete the Checklists.
Find an asset's work history
The Asset record itself shows its General Information and Activities — changes to the Asset, such as edits, moves and deletion. It doesn't list the Results or Assignments raised against it.
To see the work, filter by Asset: the Assignments list and the Results lists both have an Asset filter, and the Assignments table can show an Asset column. See Asset history and audit trail.
Name asset-driven work clearly
Asset-driven items appear alongside Location-driven ones in the same lists, so include the Asset in the name — for example [Cadence] – [Asset] – [Type of work]: Daily – Coaster A – Pre-opening Inspection, or PM – Generator B – 500-hour Service.
Best practices
Target the most specific scope that still makes sense: if the work is about one piece of equipment, target the Asset.
For area-wide work that doesn't depend on equipment, target the Location — it's simpler to maintain.
Set up a new Asset's recurring Checklists as asset-driven Schedules from day one, so its record builds up in real time.
Split a Schedule when the Checklist or cadence differs across Assets, rather than editing one Schedule constantly.
Check Schedule Metrics after setup to confirm every assignee can complete the Checklists.
Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule a checklist for an asset instead of a location?
Yes. In the Schedule's Where? section, set Target type to Assets, pick the Locations, then the Assets. If Target type isn't there, ask your CSM to enable Scheduling functionality for assets.
Will assignments show up in an asset's maintenance history?
Not on the Asset record — its Activities only show changes to the Asset itself. Filter the Assignments list (or Results) by Asset to see all work raised against it.
Can a single schedule target both locations and assets?
No. A Schedule's Target type is either Locations (Locations and Location Groups) or Assets. Create a separate Schedule for each.
If someone is assigned asset work but has no access to the location, can they see it?
No. Access to an Asset's work comes from its Location: Assignments only show for people with access to their Location, the assignee list only offers those people, and Schedules don't give Checklists to assignees without it. Give them access to the Location.
