Overview
The Location Overview widget shows every Location in its filter as a card. Each card shows whether the Location is ready for operation, what it's doing right now, how its Checklists are going and how many urgent Assignments it has. Use it on a dashboard or a wall screen to see at a glance which Locations need attention.

💡 Why this matters: The widget lets teams confirm readiness and clear critical items before opening and during operations, from one view. Reading each part of the card correctly stops a red title bar being mistaken for a breakdown, or a gray one for a problem.
Read a Location card
1. Title bar: readiness
The color of the title bar shows whether the Location is ready for operation. It isn't based on Checklist scores.
Red: Not ready. Critical Checklists or Assignments are outstanding, as defined by your organization's Header Color settings.
Green: Ready, with Checklists in the widget's time range.
Gray: Ready, with no Checklists in the widget's time range.
There is no amber state for the title bar. Super Users can click a red Location's name to see what's holding it; your organization can allow everyone to do this. See Configuring readiness colors on the Location Overview and Troubleshooting red statuses on the Location Overview.
2. Status box: operational state
A small box at the left end of the title bar shows whether the Location is operating and whether it has an active Downtime: gray (closed), green (open), yellow (non-blocking Downtime) or red (Blocking Downtime). Hover over it for a description, and click a yellow or red box to open the Location's Downtimes. It appears only for Locations with Operational Logging. See Downtime on Dashboards.
3. Checklists bar
The Checklists bar splits the Location's Checklists in the widget's time range by state. Hover over a segment to see the count, or click it to list the Checklists. If there are none, hovering over the section shows No data available.

A yellow or red segment doesn't by itself make the Location not ready; only critical items change the title bar.
4. Assignments
The Assignments section shows two counts: High Priority and Past Deadline open Assignments. Click it to list them.
Filter the widget
Use the buttons at the top of the widget to choose the time range and to filter by Checklist categories, Checklists, Schedules, and Locations or Location Groups. Next to the time range, choose how a Checklist has to fall in it: Overlaps, Starts, Ends, or Starts and ends (both inside the range).
Click Show Locations in Groups to show a card per Location Group instead. Click a group's name to open its Locations, and Back to return. Locations that aren't in a group still show on their own.
The widget shows up to 350 Locations. With more, it shows Too many locations were returned; filter by Location or Location Group.
Change the layout
Click Open layout settings (the presentation icon) and tick what you need, then click Save:
Use fixed box width: gives every card the same width.
Hide assignment information and Hide checklist information: remove those sections from the cards.
Hide locations ready for operation: shows only red Locations.
Order locations by: Name, or Status (red first).
The Configuration icon (cog) opens Readiness Configuration:
Mark approved items as handled (on by default): approved Results and approved missed Checklists count as handled in the Checklists bar.
Mark results awaiting approval as handled (off by default): Results awaiting approval count as handled instead of yellow.
⚠️ Heads-up: Layout and Readiness Configuration settings only change how this widget displays. They don't change the title bar color, which follows your organization's Header Color settings. To keep your widget settings, save them in a Personal filter — see How to use the Dashboard.
Act from the widget
In the Checklists list, click a Result's status icon to Approve or Disapprove it, or a missed Checklist's icon to Approve or Reschedule it. The options appear only if you're allowed to validate that Checklist. Click the open icon at the end of a row to see the Result.
Best practices
Review the widget at the start of each day and deal with red Locations first.
Order by Status on wall screens, so the Locations that need attention are at the top.
Use Hide locations ready for operation for a "what's blocking us" view during opening.
Save your filters and layout as a Personal filter and make it your default.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a location to the location overview?
The widget shows every Location you have access to that matches its Location filter. If one is missing, add it (or its Location Group) to the widget's Location filter, and check you have access to it. Also check Hide locations ready for operation is off.
What do the colors on the location tiles mean?
The title bar is readiness: red is not ready, green is ready, gray is ready with no Checklists in the time range. The Checklists bar shows each Checklist's state, and the small status box shows whether the Location is open or down.
How do I sort the locations alphabetically?
Click Open layout settings, set Order locations by to Name, and click Save. Save your Personal filter to keep it.
Can I make the location overview default to just my location?
Yes. Filter the widget to your Location, save it as a Personal filter and click the star to make it your default. See How to use the Dashboard.
What does "Overlaps" mean in the time filter?
It includes every Checklist whose availability overlaps the time range. Choose Starts, Ends or Starts and ends to include only Checklists that start, end, or start and end within it — useful when checks are done the night before.
Can I get an overview by location group?
Yes. Click Show Locations in Groups to show a card per Location Group, then click a group's name to see its Locations.
