Changing the User Who Completed a Result

Reassign completed Results to the user who actually did the work with Change result user: who can, the steps, and exactly what moves.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

Sometimes the wrong person is recorded as having completed a Result — someone forgot to log out of a shared device, or used a colleague's login. Change result user makes another user the one who completed the Result, and moves that user's answers and related records with it.

Who can do this

💡 Why this matters: The user on a Result flows into reporting, dashboards and filters such as Users on the Results page. Correcting it keeps accountability accurate — who actually did the work — instead of leaving a misattributed Result in your records.

Change the user on a Result

1. Open Results

Go to Results in the Mobaro Backend.

Results page in the Mobaro Backend

2. Select the Results

Tick the Result, or several Results completed by the same wrong login — up to 100 at a time. Then click Change result user in the toolbar.

3. Choose the new user

In the Change result user dialog, select the user and click Change Result User.

What changes

  • The Result is recorded as completed by the new user.

  • Answers given by the original user move to the new user. Answers given by other users stay as they were.

  • Manuals, videos and links the original user opened during the Checklist are recorded as opened by the new user.

  • Assignments and Ad Hoc Slots created from the Result, and its images, are recorded as created by the new user.

  • The change is logged in the Result's activity feed as Result creator changed, with the old and new user.

⚠️ Heads-up: Change result user replaces the original user on this Result everywhere it's shown, and there's no confirmation step. Check that you've picked the right user before you click Change Result User.

Best practices

  • Use Change result user when one person did the work under the wrong login. If several people worked on the Result and it has to be redone, invalidate it instead — see Invalidating Results.

  • Correct a Result soon after it's submitted, before it has been exported or reported on.

  • Ask users to log out of shared devices at the end of a shift, so Results are recorded under the right name.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Change result user button do?

It makes another user the one who completed the selected Results. The original user's answers, and the Assignments and images created from the Result, move to the new user, and the change is logged. Only Super Users can use it.

Why can't I see the Change result user button?

Only Super Users can change the user on a Result, and it can't be granted through a Role. Select at least one Result on the Results page and ask a Super User if the button still doesn't show.

Does it change answers given by other users?

No. Only answers given by the original user move to the new user. Answers given by other users, and answers later changed in the Backend, keep the user who gave them.

Can I change it back?

Yes. Run Change result user again and select the original user. If the user you're changing from also answered questions on that Result themselves, those answers move too.

The checklist was done by the right person but at the wrong location. Can I fix that?

Yes, with Change result location (Super Users only). See Changing a result's location.
