Overview
If you saved a Checklist change but someone still sees the old content, identify exactly where they are seeing it: the editor, a new Checklist in the app, work already in progress, or a completed Result.
Compare one named Checklist and one affected device at a time. This makes it easier to separate an unsaved edit, a different copy, a language difference and an update that has not reached the device.

💡 Why this matters: A Checklist definition, work in progress and a completed Result serve different purposes. Checking the right item prevents unnecessary edits and protects recorded work.
Confirm the saved Checklist
1. Reopen the original
Open the intended Checklist in the Backend and confirm the edit is still present after saving and reopening. Check its name and permission folder. If you edited a copy, inspect the Schedule to see which Checklist it uses.
2. Check the relevant language
Compare the language you edited with the language the affected person is using. A translated label can differ from the primary text. Review the relevant translation rather than changing the primary wording repeatedly; see translating a Checklist.
3. Check conditional content
If the change is on a question or page that appears only after certain answers, repeat the same answer path when comparing it. A hidden page and an old version can look similar. Keep a note of the answers that lead to the missing content.
Compare the same work
Where you see old content | Next check |
Backend editor | Reopen the saved Checklist and confirm you edited the intended copy. |
New work in the app | Check the Schedule, language, connection and whether the device has received updated data. |
Work already in progress | Record that it was started before the edit. Preserve it while investigating. |
Completed Result | Review that Result as a record of the completed work; it is not a preview of today’s Checklist. |
Once the device has a working connection and has finished updating its data, compare a fresh start in an appropriate test Schedule. Do not create test Results in an operational Schedule simply to check wording.
🛑 Critical: Do not log out, reinstall the app or clear its data to force an update while the device holds unsent work. First follow the guidance for unsent data and contact Support if the work cannot be sent.
Keep existing records intact
Saving a Checklist maintains revisions and snapshots. It does not turn a completed Result into a new run of the edited Checklist. Use editing and maintaining Checklists for revision history and backup guidance.
Do not delete a Result, restart someone’s work or change their answers just to make the new wording appear. For work already in progress, send Support the start time and the time of the Checklist edit before taking recovery steps.
Capture a useful comparison
Checklist and Schedule names or links, plus the active organization.
The field or question changed, the saved wording and the wording still displayed.
Language, app version, device and whether the work is fresh, in progress or completed.
When the change was saved and when the device last had a working connection.
Best practices
Check important edits with fresh test work before the next operational run.
Keep translated wording in step with the primary Checklist.
Compare named accounts and devices individually when several people report different content.
Frequently asked questions
I changed the Checklist in the Backend. Why is the app still showing the old one?
Check the saved Checklist, the copy used by the Schedule, the language and the device’s data update. Also identify whether the work was started before the edit. Preserve unsent work while investigating.
Can I undo changes to the Checklist structure?
Use the Checklist’s revision and backup guidance rather than editing old Results. See editing and maintaining Checklists for the available recovery options.
Could using the same login on different devices affect my comparison?
Check each device separately and identify which Checklist and work session each is showing. The same login alone does not establish that both devices are displaying the same work or have received the same update.
