Use an Ad Hoc Slot Trigger when a failed check needs a separate retest after a waiting period. The example here uses a one-hour delay; use the waiting period and completion window required by your own procedure.

💡 Why this matters: A separate follow-up slot gives the retest a visible deadline and its own Result, instead of leaving the original inspection unfinished.
Before you start
Build the retest Checklist first. Keep it focused on the follow-up procedure and avoid a trigger that recursively schedules the same work. Decide who performs and reviews the retest, and confirm their Location access.
Walkthrough
1. Trigger on the failed answer
On the original supported question, open Triggers › Add Trigger › Ad Hoc Slot Trigger. Set If the answer to this question is: to the failed answer, such as equal to “Not OK”.
2. Set the waiting and completion windows
Tick Delay start by and enter 1 Hour for this example. Set Set deadline to to the allowed completion window after that delayed start. A one-hour delay plus a two-hour deadline means the deadline is three hours after the original Checklist is completed.
3. Choose the retest Checklist and team
Select the purpose-built retest Checklist, its Assignees and Reviewers. Set Results visible to and add a short message explaining the retest. The original Schedule’s reviewers are not copied into this new slot.
4. Choose validation and readiness behavior
Set the follow-up’s compliance options, including validation if required. Treat Is critical for operation as an operational decision: it can affect readiness once the slot starts. Save and test the complete failed-answer path in a controlled setup.
Check the outcome
The delay starts from completion of the original Checklist, not from the moment its answer was tapped. The final answer must still meet the condition. Open the original Result to find the created Ad Hoc Slot; the retest produces a separate Result. See Ad Hoc Slot Trigger behavior.

Can a failed answer schedule a retest in an hour?
Yes. Use an Ad Hoc Slot Trigger with Delay start by set to 1 Hour. The timer starts when the triggering Checklist is completed.
Will the retest answer appear in the original Result?
No. The original Result references the created slot. Completing the retest produces its own Result.
Will saving the original Checklist for later create the slot?
No. The Checklist must be completed with a final answer that meets the trigger condition. Certification Process Checklists and edits to completed Results do not create these slots.
