Overview
A Link in the Library stores a web address — a manufacturer's service portal, a regulator's page, an internal wiki — alongside your manuals and videos. You keep the address in one place, organize it in folders, and attach it to Checklist questions, so when the URL changes you update it once.
Links follow the same folder publishing and deletion rules as the rest of the Library. For manuals and videos, see Creating and managing your Library.

💡 Why this matters: A link in the Library has one address to maintain. When the destination moves, you edit it once and every Checklist question that uses it stays current — no hunting through Checklists for stale URLs.
Links, videos and manuals
Use a Link for any web page. Use a Video for YouTube or Vimeo videos, which play inside the app, and a Manual for PDFs, which can be downloaded for offline use. A link always opens outside Mobaro and needs an internet connection.
Add a link
1. Open the folder
In the Backend, go to Library and select the folder the link belongs in.
2. Create the link
Click Create (the + icon) and choose Link. Enter a Name and, optionally, a Description. Users see the name, so Coaster X — manufacturer portal beats link.
3. Enter the URL
Under Versions, the link starts with one version. Give it a Version Name and paste the address into Url. The URL must start with HTTP, HTTPS or FTP.
4. Add versions for different sites (optional)
To show a different address at different sites, click Add Version for each one and use Limit To (Location Groups) to choose where it applies. A version with no Location Groups applies everywhere.
5. Save
Save the link. It can now be attached to Checklist questions.
⚠️ Heads-up: Versions aren't a revision history, and they can only be limited to Location Groups — not to Roles or User Groups. When a URL changes, edit the existing version's Url instead of adding a new version.
Attach a link to a question
1. Open the question
Open the Checklist in the Checklist editor and select the question. See How to create a checklist.
2. Add the link
In the question's Links section, click the Add Link icon, pick the link from the Library folders and click OK. Then save the Checklist.
A link attached to a question is always delivered to the Users who get that Checklist, whatever its folder's publishing settings.
How users open a link
In the app's Library — Users tap the link, then a version, and it opens on their device.
On a Checklist question — Users tap the link icon and choose from Select a Link. They're offered every version with no Location Group limit, or one limited to a group containing the Checklist's Location.
On RideOps — links open from the link icon on a Checklist question. The Resources & Manuals page lists only manuals and videos, not links.
In the app, links show N/A Offline. See Finding and using Library content in the mobile app.
Delete a link
🛑 Critical: Deleting a link removes it from every Checklist question that uses it, and it can't be undone. Deleting a Library folder also deletes every link in it and in its sub-folders.
Best practices
Keep links in a clearly named folder, such as External resources, so its publishing settings apply consistently.
Link to a stable page, such as a portal's start page or document index, rather than a deep URL that changes often.
Use one version per link unless different sites really need different addresses.
Frequently asked questions
Can I link a YouTube video in a checklist?
Yes. Add it to the Library as a Video rather than a link, then attach it from the question's Videos section. YouTube and Vimeo videos play inside the app; a link opens outside Mobaro.
Can I print QR codes that open a manual or link?
No. Mobaro doesn't create QR codes for Library items. To put a link where the work happens, attach it to a question on the Checklist done there, or publish its folder to the people who need it.
Which version of a link do users see?
Versions are chosen by Location Group, not by language or Role. On a Checklist question, Users are offered every version with no Limit To (Location Groups) or a group containing the Checklist's Location. If more than one applies, they pick from the list.
Users can't see a link in the app. Why?
A link follows its folder's Publish Recipients and Publish Targets, unless it's attached to a question on one of their Checklists. Super Users and Roles with Manuals and Directories › View get the whole Library. See Use permission folders in the library.
