Overview
A Select Question lets the User pick from options you define. Set it to Single choice (one option) or Multiple choice (any number of options), and give each option Points for scoring. Because the answers are fixed, Select Questions score cleanly, report consistently, and can drive logic and triggers.
To ask the same options across several lines — for example one row per seat — use a Select Question Group instead.

💡 Why this matters: Fixed options standardise answers, which is what makes everything downstream work: consistent scoring, comparable reporting, and triggers that fire on a specific answer. When you want a result you can act on automatically — raise an Assignment, require a photo — a Select Question is usually the right choice.
Add a Select Question
1. Add the question
In the Backend, go to Checklists, open the Checklist in the editor, click Add an element and choose Select Question. Enter a Title and, optionally, Explanatory Text.
2. Choose single or multiple choice
Under Question Configuration, set Type to Single choice or Multiple choice.
3. Add options and points
Click Add new option for each answer. Type the option's text and, if you score the question, its Points — a whole number of 0 or more. A Select Question needs at least one option. Drag options to change their order, or click the delete icon to remove one. Then save the Checklist.
How Select Questions score
Single choice — the answer scores the chosen option's points. The question's maximum is its highest-scoring option.
Multiple choice — the answer scores the total of every ticked option. The maximum is the total of all options.
For example, a Multiple choice question with three options worth 1 point each scores 2 of 3 when two are ticked. For how question points add up to the Checklist's score, see Understanding checklist scoring.
Example uses
Single choice — "What is the operational status of the ride?" with Operational, Needs attention and Out of service.
Multiple choice — "Which safety checks were completed?" with Restraints checked, Lap bars locked and Emergency stop tested.
Logic and trigger conditions
Logic and triggers on a Select Question compare the answer with one of its options. The conditions depend on the Type:
Used for | Single choice | Multiple choice |
Logic | equal to, not equal to | equal to, not equal to |
Triggers | equal to, not equal to | equal to only |
A trigger on a Multiple choice question fires when its option is one of those ticked. See Adding logic to a Checklist and Adding triggers to a checklist.
⚠️ Heads-up: Triggers on a Multiple choice question only support equal to. If you switch a question to Multiple choice, the trigger editor changes any not equal to condition to equal to, so check the question's triggers after changing the Type.

Best practices
Keep options clear and distinct, so the right answer is obvious.
Use as few options as the decision needs — fewer options are faster to answer.
Match Single choice or Multiple choice to the real decision.
On Multiple choice, remember every ticked option adds points; give options that shouldn't raise the score 0 points.
Use logic and triggers on the answer to show follow-up questions or raise work automatically.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a Select Question and a Select Question Group?
A Select Question asks one question. A Select Question Group asks several lines that share the same options, such as one row per seat, and each line is answered separately. See Select Question Group Type.
What are points on a select question for?
Points turn answers into a score. Mobaro reports the points collected as a share of the maximum possible, and scores feed reports and dashboards. On Multiple choice, every ticked option's points count. See Understanding checklist scoring.
Can a multiple choice question be answered with none of the options selected?
No. The app needs at least one ticked option before the Checklist can be completed. Add an option such as None of the above for that case.
How do I make a select question optional?
You can't: every visible question needs an answer. Add an N/A option, or use Adding logic to a Checklist to show the question only when it applies — hidden questions don't need answers.
Can the options be shown in a random order?
No. Options always appear in the order you set. Drag them in the Checklist editor to change the order.
Can I add a picture to a single choice question?
Yes. Add it under Reference Images on the question so Users see it while answering. To let Users attach their own photos to the answer, use the question's Action Menu Options.
