Overview
Every RideOps tablet has its own settings panel. Operators use it to change the tablet's language, choose which widgets show on the Operation Dashboard, pin a ride statistic, move to another ride, change their PIN and reset the tablet.
These settings are saved on the tablet itself, not in the Backend. To make every tablet at a ride look and behave the same, lock them from the Location's RideOps Settings.

💡 Why this matters: Shared tablets drift. One Operator hides the queue widget and the next shift can't post wait times. Knowing where the settings live, and locking them where it matters, keeps every shift working from the same screen.
Open the settings panel
The panel only opens while an Operator is signed in. Open it in either of two ways:
Tap the RideOps logo at the top of the menu on the left.
While the ride is open, tap the Settings tab on the Operation Dashboard.
What each setting does
Defaults are for a tablet whose Location isn't locked.

⚠️ Heads-up: Turning off Riders widget or Queue widget hides it on this tablet only, and Operators can't record dispatches or queue times there until it's back on. Both widgets also only show while the ride is open and ready for operation; see Managing queues and dispatches in RideOps.
Options on each widget
While the Location isn't locked, the Riders, Queue and Bulletin widgets have their own settings button:
Riders widget: Show number selector or Show number grid; Configuration, to set the grid's Maximum dispatchable amount and Direction; Count empty seats or Count occupied seats; and Hide from dashboard.
Queue widget and Bulletin widget: Hide from dashboard.
Safari AI widgets: Hide from dashboard, and Get latest external dispatch entry or Get latest external queue entry.
Hide from dashboard does the same as switching the widget off in the settings panel. Switch it on there to bring it back.
Language on the tablet
RideOps shows the signed-in Operator's language: the Language on their Mobaro user, or the Location's or organization's language if they have none. Before anyone signs in, it uses the Location's language.
Language in the settings panel switches the tablet straight away, but RideOps changes back to the Operator's language the next time it updates the ride's data, usually within minutes. To change it for good, change the Operator's Language on their user in the Backend. See Create new users in your organization.
Where the settings are kept
On the tablet only. Other tablets at the same ride keep their own settings, and nothing is saved to the Operator.
Per ride. When you use Change Location, the tablet remembers each ride's settings and restores them when you switch back. A ride the tablet hasn't run before starts with the defaults.
Until a reset. Factory Reset, or clearing the browser's site data, returns every setting to its default.
Lock the settings from the Backend
Lock RideOps app configuration applies the same settings to every tablet at the ride and stops Operators changing them.
1. Open the Location's RideOps Settings
In the Backend, go to Locations, open the Location and click RideOps Settings.
2. Tick Lock RideOps app configuration
In the RideOps Configuration section, tick Lock RideOps app configuration. The tablet options appear under it.
3. Choose the tablet options
Allow inputting dispatches when closing the location and Allow inputting total riders when closing the location: on by default.
Show queue time widget: on by default.
Show rider dispatch widget: on by default, with Rider dispatch input type (Grid or Spinner), Maximum riders per dispatch (99) and Number direction (Ascending) for the grid, and Rider dispatch metric type (Full seats or Empty seats).
Show Safari AI dispatch widget, Show Safari AI queue time widget and Show bulletin widget: off by default, and only listed where those features are set up.
4. Save
Confirm the dialog, then save the Location. Each tablet applies the lock the next time it updates the ride.
With the lock on, the tablet works like this:

⚠️ Heads-up: Turning the lock off doesn't reset the tablets. Each one keeps the values the lock applied until an Operator changes them.
Best practices
Lock shared tablets at busy rides once you've tested the settings with a real Operator.
Change an Operator's language on their user, not on the tablet.
Before a Factory Reset, note any settings you'll want back; the reset clears them.
Use Change Location to move between rides on the same key rather than resetting.
Sign out before leaving a tablet: anyone at a signed-in tablet can use Change Pin.
Frequently asked questions
How can I switch locations on RideOps?
Open the settings panel and tap Change Location, then pick the ride. The tablet's RideOps Key must have Allow Operators to switch location ticked and cover that ride, and you must be an Operator there. See Creating and managing RideOps key.
The Factory Reset option is no longer visible. Why?
The Location has Lock RideOps app configuration turned on, which hides Factory Reset. Turn the lock off while you reset the tablet. See Resetting the RideOps app.
Why can't operators turn widgets on or off?
The Location is locked. The toggles stay greyed out and show the values set in the Location's RideOps Settings. Change them there, or untick Lock RideOps app configuration.
Why do two tablets at the same ride show different widgets?
Settings are saved per tablet, so an Operator changed one of them. Set them the same on each tablet, or lock the Location so every tablet uses its settings.
How do I change the language in RideOps?
Change the Operator's Language on their user in the Backend. Language on the tablet only lasts until RideOps next updates the ride, then it switches back to the Operator's language.
