Overview
A Result marked Duplicate result for this schedule slot is an additional completion for work that already has a completed Result in the same Schedule slot. You may hear this called a “duplicate of a schedule slot”.
The marker describes how the Result is linked to scheduled work. It does not mean the answers are identical, and it does not automatically invalidate the Result.

In Results, the duplicate icon appears beside the Result’s Id. Hover over it to see Duplicate result for this schedule slot. If Id is hidden, open the cog labeled Setup visible columns and select Id. This column is not shown by default.
What makes a Result a duplicate
A Schedule slot is one scheduled occurrence, with its own start and end times. Within that slot, Mobaro checks whether a completed Result already exists for the same:
Checklist
Location
Asset, including when neither Result has an Asset.
The first Result registered as a completion for that combination fills the slot’s completion entry. An additional Result for the same combination is recorded as a duplicate. Different Users can submit those Results; the User and the answers are not part of the duplicate comparison.
Two Results with the same Checklist name or completion date are not enough to establish a duplicate. They could belong to different Schedules, different occurrences, or different targets.
Example: two Users submit the same morning inspection for Harbor Pier in the same Calendar slot. One Result fills the slot’s completion entry and the other is marked as a duplicate. Both inspections may contain useful, different observations.
What the marker changes
Area | Meaning |
Result content | The duplicate remains a separate Result. Open its report to review its answers. The marker does not merge or erase them. |
Approval | Duplicate status is separate from validation. The marker does not automatically approve or disapprove a Result. |
Scheduled completion | The extra Result does not create another scheduled requirement or a second completion entry for the same combination. |
Result counts | Both Results can count in the Completed Checklists widget when they match its filters and your access. The duplicate marker does not exclude a Result from that count. |
Scheduled-work indicators and completed-Result counts measure different things. Approval requirements and widget settings still affect readiness. See Readiness and Compliance widgets on your Dashboard and Completed Checklists widget.
What to do next
Review both reports and the Schedule occurrence before deciding whether either Result should be invalidated. Keep valid operational records, even when one has the duplicate marker. Use Viewing Checklist Results to find and open the reports.
🛑 Critical: Do not invalidate a Result only because it is marked as a duplicate, or because it contains a failed check. The marker does not identify which inspection is the correct operational record. Invalidation affects reporting and can affect scheduled work.
Frequently asked questions
I have two Results but no duplicate icon. Why?
First show the Id column in Results. If neither Result has the icon, compare their Schedules, slot times, Locations, and Assets. Similar-looking Results from separate occurrences are not necessarily duplicates of one slot. Contact Mobaro Support if the scope matches but the marker is unexpected.
The duplicate was answered first. Is the marker wrong?
Not necessarily. Slot registration order can differ from Answered time, for example when a Result uploads later. Compare Received as well as Answered. Mobaro does not initially select the slot’s completion by the earliest Answered time.
Does the marker mean the same upload was received twice?
No. The visible marker identifies an additional completed Result in the same slot for the same Checklist, Location, and Asset. It does not identify why that happened or prove that a device retried one upload.
