Overview
Timesheets track the time your team spends on work in Mobaro. A Timesheet entry records who worked, when and for how long, with a description and, optionally, an Entry Type such as Regular or Overtime. You log entries on an Assignment, from the mobile app or the Backend. Entries can also come from Checklists, when a Schedule asks people to register time as they complete them.
Every new entry starts as Awaiting Approval. This article covers creating entries; for approving, editing and exporting them, see the links in the FAQ.

💡 Why this matters: Time logged on the Assignment it was spent on is what makes labour data trustworthy — it feeds payroll, billing and the question "how much effort did this job actually take?" Logging in the moment beats reconstructing hours from memory later.
Log time in the mobile app
1. Open the Assignment
Go to Assignments and open the one you worked on.
2. Open the Timesheet tab
Tap the Assignment's Timesheet tab. It lists the entries already logged and their Total. Tap Add.
3. Fill in the Time entry
Add a Description and pick a Type if your organization uses Entry Types. Then record the time in one of two ways: Time spent, as Hours and Minutes, or Start / End time. Save the entry.
When you create an Assignment while doing a Checklist, the form also has a Timesheet field: tap Tap here to add a timesheet entry to log time on the new Assignment straight away.
Log time in the Backend
1. Open the Assignment's timesheet
In the Mobaro Backend, go to Assignments, select the Assignment and click Timesheet entries. You can also open the Assignment and click its Timesheet button.
2. Add a time entry
In the Timesheet dialog, click Add time entry. Enter a Description (required) and pick a Type if needed. Record the time on the Start / End time tab or the Time spent tab, then click Save.
Super Users and Users with Timesheets › Administrate also choose the User the entry is for, so they can log time on behalf of others. Super Users can add an External ID for payroll or billing systems.
Time from Checklists
Calendar and Continuous Schedules have an Enable Time Registration setting. With Optional, the app asks Do you want to register time for the checklist? when someone finishes the Checklist; with Required, they must register time before they can send it. These entries are listed as From Result on the Timesheets page, and you can see them on the completed Result with its Timesheet entries button. See Schedule compliance settings and Viewing Checklist Results.
After you save an entry
Every new entry is Awaiting Approval, including entries logged by Super Users and administrators. It's approved only when a Super User or a User with Timesheets › Administrate selects it on the Timesheets page and clicks Approve. See Approving and rejecting Timesheet entries.
⚠️ Heads-up: Once an entry is approved, you can no longer edit or delete it yourself — the app shows Approved timesheet entries cannot be edited. A Super User or a User with Timesheets › Administrate must change it, or click Reject Approval first so you can correct it.
Best practices
Log time on the Assignment as you finish the work, not at the end of the week.
Write a short description of what the time covered, so approvers don't have to ask.
Set up a few clear Entry Types and mark the most common one as Default, so it's pre-selected. See Creating a Timesheet Entry Type.
Check your entries before they're approved; after approval only an administrator can change them.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download or export timesheets?
Can I see all my logged hours in one place?
Yes, in the Backend. The Timesheets page lists your own entries with their approval state; administrators see everyone's. The app shows entries per Assignment only. Mobaro timesheets aren't payslips — ask your manager about pay.
Where do I register my hours?
On the Assignment you worked on: in the app, open its Timesheet tab and tap Add; in the Backend, select it in Assignments and click Timesheet entries. If a Schedule has Enable Time Registration on, the app also asks for your time when you finish that Checklist.
How do I add someone else's time to a work order?
In the Backend, open the Assignment's Timesheet entries, click Add time entry and choose the User. Only Super Users and Users with Timesheets › Administrate see the User field; everyone else can log only their own time.
Can I log time without an Assignment?
Yes, through a Checklist, if its Schedule has Enable Time Registration set to Optional or Required. Otherwise, entries are logged on an Assignment.
