Ride Queue widget

The Ride Queue widget shows each ride's latest recorded queue time. Learn its Locations, Source and chart settings and why values can look stale.

Overview

The Ride Queue widget shows the latest recorded queue time for each ride you choose, with when and by whom it was recorded. It answers "what is the queue at each ride right now?"

It's one of the widgets in the RideOps category; the others are described in RideOps dashboard widgets.

At a glance

Who can do this

Super Users, or a Role with Dashboard Templates › Manage, add it. Anyone who can view the dashboard sees it.

Where

Dashboard Templates › a template › Add a widget › RideOps › Ride Queue

Works on

Backend (web). Queue times come from RideOps, the Operational Log or an integration.

Availability

All organizations. Shows data only for Locations with recorded queue times.

💡 Why this matters: Seeing where queues build lets you move staff or open capacity before long waits turn into complaints.

What it shows

For each Location with a queue time, the widget shows a box with the Location's name, the queue time in minutes (min), the date and time it was recorded, and who recorded it. With Show as Chart on, it shows a column chart instead, with one column per ride in Minutes.

  • RideOps source: queue times operators set in RideOps, and queue times added in the Backend's Operational Log.

  • External source: queue times sent to Mobaro by an integration through the Public API, such as Safari AI. See RideOps dashboard widgets.

The widget always shows the most recent entry, however old. Closing a ride doesn't reset it, so check the time under the value. A Location appears once it has a queue time from either source; if it has none from the chosen source, its value is empty.

Settings and filters

Setting

What it does

Default

Locations

Pick Locations or Location Groups and click Apply Filter. Required: the widget stays empty until you choose.

None

Show as Chart (chart button)

Shows a column chart instead of boxes.

Off

RideOps or External: where the queue times come from.

RideOps

Title

Click the widget's title to rename it; the cross resets it.

Ride Queue

The widget has no time range: it's a snapshot of the latest values.

Reading the widget

In chart mode, hover over a column to see the queue time in minutes. Boxes and columns can't be clicked. The widget reloads with the dashboard every 10 minutes (there's no setting to turn this off) and whenever you change a filter, so it isn't live to the second. To keep changed settings, save them in a Personal filter.

For queue times over a period, use Ride Queue Development; for today's average queue time per Location, use the Operational Overview widget.

Best practices

  • Put the widget on a full-screen operations dashboard, next to a status widget, for a live read.

  • Ask operators to update queue times at a steady interval, so the values stay current.

  • Pick the Source that matches how each ride records queue times.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a way to adjust the queue time on the desktop?

Yes. In the Backend, open the Location's Operational Log, click Create Activity and add a Queue Time. This needs Super User or Operations › Manage Queue Entries. See Log book on the web — the Operational Log dialog.

Does this widget show historical queue trends?

No. It shows only the latest queue time. For queue time over a period, add the Ride Queue Development widget. See RideOps dashboard widgets.

Why doesn't my ride show a queue time?

Check that the ride is selected in Locations and that Source matches where its queue times come from: RideOps or External for an integration. A ride only appears once a queue time has been recorded.

The ride is closed, but the widget still shows a queue time. Why?

The widget shows the latest recorded value, and closing a ride doesn't reset it. Check the time shown under the value.
