Readiness Gauge widget

What the Readiness Gauge widget shows, how its red-to-green color works, its filters and Configuration settings, and when it refreshes.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

The Readiness Gauge widget shows the percentage of handled scheduled Checklists on a half-circle gauge. Its time range and filters determine which Checklists count.

It uses the same calculation as the Readiness widget and Readiness as Text. To add it, see How to set up Dashboard Templates.

Readiness Gauge widget showing the handled percentage on a colored gauge

What it shows

The gauge fills to the handled percentage — handled Checklists divided by all scheduled Checklists in the time range — and shows it in the middle, rounded to a whole number.

  • By default a scheduled Checklist is handled when its Result is completed and either doesn't need approval or has been approved, or when it was missed and the missed Checklist has been approved or rescheduled. Results awaiting approval, and disapproved Results, aren't handled.

  • The total is every scheduled Checklist in the time range: one per Calendar slot or Ad Hoc Slot and Location (or Asset) — completed, awaiting approval, missed, overdue, available now or available later. Checklists completed outside a slot aren't counted, and Continuous Schedules have no slots.

The gauge color shades gradually from red at 0% through yellow at 60% to green at 100%. There are no fixed color bands and no threshold setting.

Super Users see every scheduled Checklist. Other Users see Checklists at Locations they're a member of and — without Schedules › View — only from Schedules where they're an assignee, reviewer or owner. Two people can see different numbers on the same dashboard. See How access works in Mobaro.

ℹ️ Note: The readiness percentage isn't a Location's ready-for-operation status. That status (red or green) comes from the Header Color settings and critical Checklists — see Configuring readiness colors on the Location Overview.

Use the buttons at the top of the widget. Filters combine, so a Checklist has to match all of them.

Readiness

Reading the widget

  • Click the gauge to open Readiness Details, with each Location and Location Group down to the individual Checklists. See Readiness widget overview.

  • The gauge doesn't show the counts. Use Readiness as Text for "12 of 15 checklists", or the Compliance Meter to see what the rest is waiting on.

  • With no scheduled Checklists in the time range, the gauge shows 0%.

  • The gauge resizes with the widget, so make the widget wider for a bigger gauge.

  • The widget reloads when you change a filter, when you approve or disapprove from the dashboard, and with the dashboard every 10 minutes. Filter changes are kept only if you save them in a Personal filter — see How to use the Dashboard.

Best practices

  • Use one gauge per team or area, filtered by Locations or Checklist Categories, and give each a clear title.

  • Pair it with Readiness by Locations and Groups to see which area is holding the number down.

Frequently asked questions

What do the gauge colors mean?

Only the percentage. The color moves gradually from red at 0% through yellow at 60% to green at 100%. It isn't the Location's ready-for-operation color, which comes from the Header Color settings.

Does the gauge update in real time?

No. It reloads when you change a filter, when you approve or disapprove from the dashboard, and with the dashboard every 10 minutes. A Result still on an unsynced device isn't counted yet.

Why is the gauge at 0% when checklists have been done?

Check the time range and inclusion type, and that the filters match those Checklists. Results awaiting approval or disapproved aren't handled unless Mark results awaiting approval as handled is on. Checklists done outside a Schedule slot don't count.

A colleague sees a different percentage on the same dashboard. Why?

Each person only sees Checklists at their Locations, and without Schedules › View only from their own Schedules. To give everyone the same view, use an Organization filter on the Dashboard Template.
