Filter and edit Import Rows in bulk

Use filters, column controls and Bulk Changes, and choose whether to skip or remove Import Rows.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

The mapping screen lets you focus on the Import Rows you need and apply shared Mobaro choices to several rows. Filtering, selecting and excluding rows have different effects.

At a glance

Who can do this

Find and arrange Import Rows

1. Filter the visible rows

Use Filter rows... to search. Search terms are case-insensitive; when you enter several words, all must match somewhere in the Import Row. Use Filter in the Status header to choose which statuses to show, and Remove filters to restore all status choices. Clear the text search separately.

2. Arrange the columns

Use the Columns checkboxes to show or hide Source Table columns. Drag column headers to arrange the grid. Choose Left-Freeze Mapping Columns to keep Row Mapping columns to the left, or Un-Freeze Mapping Columns to release them. Reset Columns restores the default layout. The side-panel arrow buttons collapse or expand Columns and Row Data. You can edit source cells on editable Import Rows in the grid; these edits are saved in the Import Project, not back to the original Excel workbook.

Apply shared field choices

3. Select the intended Import Rows

Select the rows you want to change. Select All selects the currently visible rows; it changes to Select None when all visible rows are selected. Review your selection before applying changes.

⚠️ Heads-up: With no explicit selection, Bulk Changes targets all editable incomplete Import Rows in the Import Project, including rows hidden by filters. With a selection, it targets the selected editable rows. Check the “Will be applied to … rows” count.

4. Apply a shared value

Choose Set Location, Set Assignee, Set Assignment Definition or Set Priority. Pick a value and choose Apply. Priority choices require a shared Assignment Definition across the target rows. A warning triangle beside a priority identifies a priority marked critical for operation. Review the resulting priorities and Assets after changing other fields.

Exclude or remove rows

5. Choose what stays in the import

Right-click the selected rows. Skip importing selected rows keeps them in the Import Project as S. When all selected rows are excluded, Import selected rows includes them again; this choice does not send them to Mobaro. Remove row(s) removes them from the local working list.

🛑 Critical: Use Skip importing selected rows when you only need to omit work from an Import Run. Remove row(s) has no restore-row control and can prune embedded files that are no longer referenced. Save a backup first. Created Import Rows cannot be removed through this action. Local removal does not delete data from Mobaro.

Best practices

  • Use an explicit selection for deliberate bulk edits.

  • Check the target count in each flyout and save the Import Project after reviewing changes.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Set Priority unavailable?

The target rows need a shared Assignment Definition with available priorities. Select rows with the same definition, or set their Assignment Definition first.

Does hiding a column remove its source data?

No. Column visibility changes the grid layout. Hidden Source Table values remain available for templates and saved Import Project data.

Why are some selected rows unchanged?

Created Import Rows are locked for editing and are excluded from Bulk Changes. Check Mobaro ID and status C before trying to change them.
