Overview
The Assignments by Assignee widget shows how many open Assignments each assignee has, in a bar chart with one bar per User or User Group. Use it to see where open work is piling up and to spread workload. Click a bar to list that assignee's Assignments.
To add the widget to a dashboard, see How to set up Dashboard Templates.

💡 Why this matters: Seeing open work per person or team shows who is overloaded and who has capacity, so you can rebalance before deadlines slip.
What the chart counts
Each bar is one assignee, and its height is the number of their open Assignments: status Created or Started. Finished Assignments aren't counted, so the widget doesn't show completion or progress.
An Assignment with several assignees counts once for each of them.
An Assignment assigned to a User Group counts on the group's bar, not on its members' bars.
Unassigned Assignments aren't shown.
The widget only counts Assignments you have access to, so two people can see different bars. See Why do I see different assignments on the Backend vs. the mobile app?.
Filter the widget
Use the buttons at the top of the widget. Filters combine, so an Assignment has to match all of them.
Users: only these Users and User Groups. With none selected, every assignee with open Assignments is shown.
Only assignments assigned to a user: shows Users only, without User Group bars. If you've selected User Groups in Users, it shows a bar per member instead, counting the Assignments assigned to them personally.
Locations: Assignments on these Locations or Location Groups.
Checklists: Assignments created from these Checklists.
Priority: high-priority Assignments only.
Assignment Category: one or more categories, or Uncategorized.
Deadline: Assignments with a deadline in a time range, such as Today, Before Today, This week or a Custom Time Range. All Time is the default.
The widget reloads with the dashboard every 10 minutes and whenever you change a filter. See How to use the Dashboard.
See the Assignments behind a bar
Click a bar to list that assignee's open Assignments, using the widget's filters. The list shows Name, Assignee, Target, Asset, Creator, Deadline, From Checklist and Priority, with high-priority Assignments first, then by deadline. A deadline before today is shown in red; high-priority Assignments show N/A as their deadline.
Click Go to assignment (the arrow at the end of a row) to open the Assignment.
Best practices
To compare a team's workloads, select its User Group in Users and turn on Only assignments assigned to a user.
Set Deadline to Before Today to see who has late work.
Pair it with the Assignments widget when you need the list itself rather than counts.
Give the widget a custom title that says what it shows, and save your filters in a Personal filter.
Frequently asked questions
How can I see all the assignments I created?
Not with this widget; it groups by assignee. Use the Assignments widget and set its Assignee filter to Created By yourself.
How do I view an overdue assignment?
There's no overdue status. Set Deadline to Before Today: the chart then counts each assignee's open Assignments past their deadline. Click a bar to list them.
Can I see completed or resolved assignments here?
No. Finished Assignments are never counted. To list them, set the Assignments widget's Status filter to Finished.
Can I reassign tasks directly from this widget?
No. Click a bar, then Go to assignment to open the Assignment, and change its assignees there. See How to create and delegate an assignment.
Why is someone missing from the chart?
They have no open Assignments that match the filters, their work is assigned to a User Group rather than to them personally, or you don't have access to their Assignments.
