Overview
The Assignments in period by location widget compares Assignment workload between Locations, with stacked columns divided by category. Its default dashboard title is History of assignments by location.

What it shows
One column per Location: the Location the Assignment is for. Location Groups don't get columns, and Locations with no matching Assignments aren't shown.
Each column is stacked by category, with the count on each segment. Assignment Categories, Definition Categories and Uncategorized each get their own segment, and an Assignment with several categories counts in each.
An Assignment counts if it was open at some point in the period: created before the period ends, and not resolved before the period starts. An Assignment that stays open for three months counts in each of those months.
Deleted Assignments aren't counted, and only Assignments you have access to are. See Why do I see different assignments on the Backend vs. the mobile app?.
⚠️ Heads-up: The Status filter uses each Assignment's status now, not its status during the period. With Status set to Open, a past month only shows the Assignments from that month that are still open today.
Settings and filters
Use the buttons at the top of the widget. Filters combine, so an Assignment has to match all of them.

Reading the widget
Hover over a segment to see the Location, category and count. Click a segment to list those Assignments, using the widget's filters. The list shows Name, Status, Assignee, Target, Asset, Creator, Deadline, From Checklist and Priority, with high-priority Assignments first, then by deadline. Click Go to assignment to open one.
The period follows the dashboard's time zone. If nothing matches, the chart is empty. The widget reloads with the dashboard every 10 minutes and whenever you change a filter. Changes you make to its filters on a dashboard are kept only if you save them in a Personal filter — see Dashboard filters — Organization vs Personal. Best practices
Use Last 6 or 12 Months and Status All to compare how much work each Location generates.
Select a Location Group to compare the Locations in one area side by side.
For today's open work, use Assignments by Category or the Assignments widget instead; they aren't tied to a period.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a way to pull an assignment report by location?
Yes. This widget counts each Location's Assignments for a period; click a segment to list them. To get the data into a spreadsheet, export Assignments instead — see Reporting on and exporting Assignments.
Can I create a dashboard that shows all finished assignments?
Yes. Set Status to Finished and choose a time range: the chart counts finished Assignments that were open during the period. For a list, set the Assignments widget's Status to Finished.
Why does an assignment from last month show up in this month's numbers?
Because it was still open at some point this month. The widget counts every Assignment open during the period, not only the ones created in it.
Can I view assignments for several locations at once?
Yes. Select several Locations or a Location Group in Locations. Each Location keeps its own column; the widget doesn't add them into one total.
Why don't the numbers match the Assignments by Category widget?
That widget counts Assignments open right now, with no period. This one counts Assignments open at any time in the period, filtered by their current Status (All by default).
