Overview
The Value on Question widget shows one figure worked out from the answers to a Number or Slider Question on a Checklist: the latest answer, or the average, sum or change over a period. It answers questions like "what was the last cycle count?" or "what was the average pressure this month?"

What it shows
The widget reads the answers to the questions you pick and shows one figure, rounded to one decimal place. How it is worked out depends on the time range and calculation you choose:

Latest Result (default) | The most recent answer, from any date. |
Average Value | The average of all answers in the period. |
Sum | The total of all answers in the period. |
Difference | The latest answer minus the earliest answer in the period (with Latest Result, across all dates), with + for a rise. The dates of the two answers show under the figure. |
Only Number Questions and Slider Questions can be picked. Answers that aren't a number are left out, and so are Results with no Location. It counts completed Results only, not deleted ones, whatever their approval state (Results awaiting validation count too). Each viewer sees only Results they can access, so two people can see different figures: see How access works in Mobaro.
⚠️ Heads-up: Latest Result and Difference are worked out per Location and are meant for one question. With no Location or several Locations in the filter, or several questions ticked, they don't combine them: the figure can be the latest answer, or the change, at just one Location. Filter the widget to a single Location and tick one question, or use Value on Question by Location to see each Location's latest answer.

Reading the widget
Click the figure to open Values by result: every answer behind it, newest first, with Location, Asset, User, Answered and Value (and Question if you ticked several). Click the Show Report icon to open the Result. With Latest Result, the list shows all answers, not only the latest.
Thresholds you set show above and below the figure.
No Checklist Selected means the Checklist filter is empty. No data is available for this widget. Please try changing your filtering. means no question is ticked. If a question is ticked but no numeric answers match the filters, the widget shows 0.

Best practices
Filter to one Location when you use Latest Result or Difference.
Record readings as a Number Question with a unit, so they can also trigger follow-up. See Number and Slider Question Type.
Give the widget a title that names the reading and unit, such as Lift hill chain — hours.
Frequently asked questions
Can I show temperature readings from a checklist on the dashboard?
Yes, but not with this widget: it only lists Number and Slider Questions. To chart Temperature Question readings over time, use Value Development By Question or Value Development By Location. You don't need to change your Temperature Questions to Number Questions.
Is there a widget that shows the answer to one question, including text answers?
For Number and Slider Questions, use this widget. For Select and Smiley Questions, use Answer Distribution. No widget shows free-text answers from a Text Question; add a Select Question if you need to chart the outcome.
Can the widget calculate a percentage from two questions?
No. Ticking two questions pools their answers into one average or sum; it doesn't divide one by the other. Record the percentage in its own Number Question if you need it on a dashboard.
Why does the widget show 0?
Either the answers really add up or average to 0, or no numeric answers match the filters: the widget shows 0 rather than a no-data message. Check the time range and Locations, and click the figure to see the answers behind it.
