Completing a checklist in the Mobaro mobile app

A guide for field users on finding assigned Checklists, answering questions, adding photos and comments, saving progress, and submitting in the Mobaro mobile app.

Overview

This guide is for the people who complete Checklists in the field. It walks through finding your assigned Checklists in the Mobaro mobile app, answering Questions, attaching photos and comments, saving progress, and submitting your work.

To see and complete a Checklist on the mobile app, you must be an Assignee on a Schedule and have access to its Target Location.

Why this matters: The Checklist is where field work gets recorded. Knowing how to attach evidence, save progress, and submit means inspections are captured accurately the first time, even when you're offline.


Finding your Checklists

Open the Mobaro app and sign in. From the home screen you can reach Checklists in a few ways:

  • Tap the Checklists tile to see what's available to you.

  • Browse by Location to see the Checklists tied to where you're working.

  • Switch the view to Folders to find Checklists grouped by their Folder.

Note: What you see depends on the Schedules you're assigned to and the Locations you can access. Calendar Checklists appear during their scheduled slot, while Continuous Checklists are always available.


Starting a Checklist

1. Select the Checklist and Location

Choose the Checklist and the Location (or Asset) you're completing it for.

2. Download it if prompted

If the Checklist requires it, allow it to download first. This makes all content and reference materials available even without a connection.

3. Work through the Pages

Answer each Question, moving through the Pages in order.

Note: Some Questions may appear or disappear as you answer, based on logic set up by your administrator. You'll only see the Questions relevant to your situation.


Answering Questions

Depending on how the Checklist was built, you may:

  • Select an option, choose multiple options, pick a date, set a temperature, enter a number, or type a text response.

  • Add a photo by taking one with your camera, or selecting one from your gallery if allowed.

  • Add a comment for extra context where comments are enabled.

  • Open any reference material (manual, link, or video) attached to a Question for guidance.

Note: Certain answers may require a comment or photo before you can continue, and some may create a follow-up Assignment. These are set up with triggers to capture important issues.


Saving progress and submitting

Saving for later

If you can't finish in one go, save your progress. Saved Checklists become Resumable Results in the cloud so you can pick up where you left off.

Submitting

When you've answered everything required, submit the Checklist. Once received on the Mobaro Backend it becomes a Result that reviewers can view, score, and act on.

Critical: Calendar Checklists have a deadline. If one isn't completed before its slot (plus any grace period) ends, it becomes a Missed Result. Watch for reminder push notifications so nothing slips.


Working offline

You can complete downloaded Checklists without a connection. Your answers are stored on your device and sync to the Backend once you're back online. External links and videos, however, require an internet connection to open.


Viewing your Results

Review completed Checklists from the Reports tile in the mobile app. You'll see Results based on your permissions for the relevant Checklists and Locations. See Viewing Checklist Results.


Example: a pre-opening ride check

Scenario

Maria arrives for an early shift and needs to complete the coaster's pre-opening inspection in an area with weak signal.

Setup

  • She opens the Checklists tile, selects the inspection for her ride, and lets it download.

  • She answers each check, photographing a worn seatbelt and adding a comment.

Result

  • She submits before opening; the Result syncs when she's back in range, and the flagged seatbelt creates a Maintenance Assignment automatically.


Frequently asked questions

Q: A Checklist I expected isn't showing up. Why?
A: You may not be an Assignee on its Schedule, you may not have access to the Location, or its time slot may not be active yet. Check with your administrator.

Q: Can I finish a Checklist later?
A: Yes. Save your progress to create a Resumable Result and continue when you're ready, as long as the slot is still open.

Q: Do I need internet to complete a Checklist?
A: Not if it's downloaded. Your answers sync automatically once you reconnect. Only external links and videos need a live connection.
