Create an Asset

Add an Asset to a Location — from the Location itself or the Assets tab — so it can be scheduled for Checklists and Assignments.

Written by Logan Bowlby

An Asset is a piece of equipment you track within a Location — once created, it can be scheduled for Checklists and have Assignments raised against it. You can add an Asset two ways: directly on a Location, or from the Assets tab.

Permissions: You need to be a Super User, or hold a Role with Locations: Modify, to create an Asset.

Create an Asset from a Location

In the Mobaro Backend, open Locations and select the Location the Asset belongs to. Click the Assets button, click + Create, fill in the Asset details, and click Save.

Create an Asset from the Assets tab

Alternatively, go to LocationsAssets and click + Create. Select the Location the Asset belongs to, fill in the Asset details, and click Save.

Frequently asked questions

What can I do with an Asset once it exists?

Schedule it for Checklists and raise Assignments against it, the same way you would for a Location.

Do the two methods create different Assets?

No. Creating from a Location or from the Assets tab produces the same Asset — the only difference is where you start. Creating from the Location pre-selects that Location for you.
