Mobaro Assignments allow you to track and resolve issues efficiently across your operation. Whether you’re responding to a failed checklist item or logging a new task from scratch, assignments ensure accountability, documentation, and visibility throughout the resolution process.
What is an Assignment?
An assignment is a task created in Mobaro to log work that needs to be done. This might include:
Addressing a failed inspection item
Noting damage that needs repair
Following up on safety issues
Scheduling maintenance or replenishment tasks
Each assignment includes essential details like a title, description, location, priority, due date, and an assignee—ensuring everyone knows what needs to happen, where, and by when.
Option 1: Create an Assignment from the Web (Manual Task)
To manually create an assignment from the Mobaro backend:
Log in to the Mobaro web application.
From the main menu, go to Assignments.
Click + Create Assignment in the top-right corner.

Title | A short, clear description of the task (e.g. “Replace loose handrail”). |
Description | Provide detailed context and expectations for resolution. Include steps taken or observed problems. |
Location | Select the relevant location where the work needs to take place. |
Asset* | Select the appropriate asset an assignment is targeted to. |
Category | Categorize the assignment (e.g., Maintenance, Safety, Housekeeping). Categories can be used for reporting. |
Definition Category* | Categorize the assignment specifically based on the selected Assignment Definition. |
Due Date | Specify when the assignment should be completed. |
Priority | Choose the urgency: Low or High *Can be custom if using Assignment Definitions |
Assignee(s) | Assign the task directly to a user or a user group. |
Attachments | Upload images or documents that provide more context for the task. This is especially helpful for visual issues. |
Option 2: Create an Assignment from a Checklist
Assignments can also be created directly from a checklist while performing an inspection.
While completing a checklist in the mobile app, tap the + icon next to a failed or flagged item.
Choose Create Assignment from the options.
Enter additional details as needed and save the assignment.

Delegating an Assignment
Assignments can be assigned to:
A/several specific users
A/several user groups (e.g., Maintenance Team)
A combination of specific users and user groups
To assign or reassign:
Open the assignment.
Click into the Assignee field.
Select one or more users or a user group.
Click Save to apply the assignee change.
Tip: Assigning to a group (e.g. “Facilities”) ensures the task is picked up by any member of that team, offering more flexibility than a direct assignment to a specific individual.
Tracking and Managing Assignments
From the Assignments section in the Mobaro backend, you can:
Filter by status (Open, Started, Finished), priority, location, or assignee.
Sort by due date to identify overdue or upcoming tasks.
Edit or comment on assignments to keep a log of progress and changes.
Resolve the assignment by marking it as Finished and optionally adding a Solution to explain how the task was completed.
Tip: The assignment’s activity feed logs every update—status changes, comments, reassignments—so you always have a full audit trail.
Mobile Functionality
Assignments are fully actionable via the Mobaro mobile app. Users can:
View their assigned tasks by priority or due date.
Filter assignments by location or status.
Add solutions, upload new photos, or mark tasks as complete.
Reassign if necessary (with permission).
Create and delegate new assignments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I create recurring assignments?
A: Mobaro does not currently support recurring assignments. However, you can include repeated tasks in checklists or reassign tasks manually as needed.
Q: Who can create and delegate assignments?
A: Permissions vary by user role. By default, to create an Assignment, a user will need access to applicable locations in the system. If additional access is needed, apply different permissions through Roles such as View: Assignments.
Q: Can I track assignment completion rates?
A: Yes, assignment data can be reviewed in your Mobaro dashboards and reports. Use filters to analyze completion rates, overdue tasks, and assignment categories.
