Signing in as an attendant

Sign in, sign out, and switch Attendants on RideOps Positions — what qualifies an Attendant, and why to use Switch rather than Sign out on mandatory positions.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

Attendants sign in and out of Positions directly on the RideOps dashboard. Knowing how to sign in, switch, and sign out keeps a Location properly staffed through the day.

Users must be listed as an Attendant for a Location (in RideOps Settings) to sign in as one through RideOps.

Why this matters: Attendant sign-in is what makes staffing live and visible — and what keeps mandatory positions honest, since a Location drops out of "Ready for operation" the moment one is left unstaffed.

Signing in as an Attendant

An Attendant can sign in to any open Position when they:

  • Are listed among the Location's Attendants.

  • Hold any required Attendant Competencies.

  • Hold any required Position Competencies.

Note: For setting up Attendants, Positions, and their Competencies, see Getting started with attendants and positions.

  1. Go to the RideOps dashboard. Unstaffed mandatory Positions are listed there and must be filled before an Operator can open the Location.

  2. To staff an optional Position, open the Operators & Attendants panel (the "[Operator] & # attendant(s)" label at top right, or the side-panel icon).

  3. On an unfilled Position, tap SIGN IN.

Note: Unlike the Operator role, Attendants don't sign in with a pin code — the Operator in charge can manage them easily.

Signing out and switching

A staffed Position offers two actions:

  • SWITCH — swap one Attendant for another in place.

  • SIGN OUT — leave the Position completely unstaffed.

Critical: Signing out of a mandatory Position returns the Location to "Not ready for operation" until it's staffed again. Use SWITCH for mandatory Positions to avoid a gap.
