Finding and using Library content in the mobile app

How field Users reach Library Manuals, Videos, and Links — by browsing the Library, opening reference material on a Checklist, or using the RideOps Manuals section — including offline behavior.

Overview

The Library isn't just a Backend tool — it's where field Users reach the manuals, videos, and links they need to do the job. This guide is for the people on the ground: where Library content shows up in the Mobaro mobile app, how to open it, and what works offline.

To see a Folder's content, a User must be both of the following:

  • A Publish Recipient of the Folder (added directly or through a User Group), and

  • A member of a Location or Location Group in the Folder's Publish Target

Why this matters: Operators rarely have time to dig for a document mid-task. Knowing the three places Library content appears means the right manual or video is always a tap away — even when there's no signal.

Where Library content appears

The same Library content can reach you in three ways:

  • Browsing the Library — the Folder structure built in the Backend is mirrored in the app, so you can open a Folder and find a Manual, Video, or Link directly.

  • On a Checklist — when an administrator attaches reference material to a Checklist question, it appears inline while you complete that question, so you don't have to go looking.

  • The RideOps Manuals section — on the RideOps tablet, Manuals scoped to that ride appear under the Manuals section. See Use permission folders in the library.

Opening Manuals, Videos, and Links

  • Manuals — open as a PDF. If the question links to a specific Section, you land on the relevant pages instead of page one. If the manual has multiple language Versions, you see the one scoped to you.

  • Videos — play inline from YouTube or Vimeo.

  • Links — open the external web page in your browser.

Note: You see content in your profile language where a matching Version exists; otherwise Mobaro falls back to the default Version.

Offline access

Connectivity decides what's available away from signal:

  • Manuals can be downloaded and viewed offline. If a Checklist is set to Require Download, its linked manuals download before you start, so they're ready underground or out on the lot.

  • Videos and Links need an internet connection — they open external content and won't load offline.

Best practice: Heading somewhere with poor signal? Open the Checklist while you still have a connection so any required manuals download, then complete it offline.

Example: a manual at the point of inspection

Scenario

Maria is inspecting a coaster's restraint system and isn't sure of the torque spec for a lap bar.

Setup

  • The inspection Checklist's restraint question links to the Restraint inspection Section of the ride's manual.

  • The Checklist is set to Require Download.

Result

  • Maria taps the reference material on the question and lands directly on the restraint pages — offline, in her language — without leaving the Checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Q: A manual I need isn't showing up in the app. Why?
A: You likely aren't a Publish Recipient of its Folder, or you don't have access to the Location set as the Folder's Publish Target. Both are required — check with your administrator.

Q: Can I open a manual without an internet connection?
A: Yes, if it's downloaded — either by opening it while connected or because the Checklist required download. Videos and Links always need a connection.

Q: Can I add or edit Library content from the app?
A: No. The Library is curated from the Backend. On mobile you view content; administrators manage it.

Q: Why am I seeing a manual in a different language than I expected?
A: You're shown the Version scoped to your profile language or Role. If none matches, Mobaro falls back to the default Version.
