Set up Roles to manage permissions

Create a Role that grants exactly the permissions a group of Users needs, and assign it to Users or User Groups.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Roles let you define permission profiles for the different kinds of work people do in Mobaro. Instead of setting access person by person, you group it into a Role and assign that Role to Users or User Groups, then manage it in one place. A Role controls what a User can view, create, modify, or delete.

Note: Roles add access to Mobaro Backend actions such as creating Checklists or adding Users. Users who only complete assigned work in the mobile app don't need a Role.

You'll need to be a Super User, or hold a Role that grants access to Roles, to create and manage them.

Create a Role

From the Mobaro Backend, click Roles.

Click + Add Role in the upper right.

Give the Role a clear, function-based name like Checklist Creator or Assignment Administrator, and optionally a description to clarify its purpose.

Assign the Role to individual Users, or to User Groups for bulk access by department or team.

Select the permissions for each module — View, Create, Modify, or Delete — granting only what this Role should have, then click Save. For every permission and what it controls, see the Role permissions reference.

Best practice: Prefer focused, function-named Roles like Assignment Admin over one broad Administrator, and review Roles regularly so access stays aligned with your team.
