Overview
Schedule owners are how Mobaro lets you decentralize Schedule management across departments. When a User is set as a Schedule's owner, they can modify or delete that Schedule without holding broad organization-wide Schedule permissions. This keeps each team in control of their own work without giving everyone access to everyone else's Schedules.
Users must be Super Users or have the following Role to add owners to Schedules:
Schedules: Modify or Create
Why this matters: Without Schedule owners, modifying a Schedule typically requires broad Schedules: Modify rights — meaning anyone with that role can edit any Schedule. Owners narrow that scope to specific people for specific Schedules, so a department head only touches their own work.
What Schedule owners can do
A User who is set as the owner of a Schedule can:
Modify the Schedule's settings, deviations, and assignees
Delete the Schedule
All without needing the standard Schedules: Modify Role.
Note: When a User creates a Schedule, they're automatically set as that Schedule's owner. You can add additional owners later or remove the original creator if needed.

Navigate to Schedules in the Mobaro Backend.
2. Pick the Schedule
Select the Schedule you want to assign an owner to.
3. Edit the Schedule
Click Edit. (For Calendar Schedules, click Settings.)
4. Find the Who? section
Scroll to the Who? section.
5. Add the Owner
Search for and add a User in the Owner field.
6. Save the Schedule

Adding an owner to multiple Schedules at once
If a single team owns dozens of Schedules, the bulk-edit tool is faster than editing each Schedule individually.
1. Open Schedules
Navigate to Schedules.
2. Enable Multiselect
Enable Multiselect.
3. Pick the Schedules
Select all the Schedules you want to add the owner to.
4. Open the bulk editor
Click Edit.
5. Open Bulk Change
Click Bulk Change Assignees / Reviewers / Owners.
6. Add the Owner
Click Add, then search for and add the Owner.
7. Save
Click Save.
Best practice: When onboarding a new department head, use the bulk tool to add them as an owner to every Schedule in their area in one pass. This is significantly faster than visiting each Schedule individually and reduces the risk of missing one.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can a Schedule have more than one owner?
A: Yes. Add as many owners as needed — each one can modify or delete the Schedule independently.
Q: What happens if I remove the only owner from a Schedule?
A: The Schedule will still exist and run normally, but no one will be able to modify or delete it without the standard Schedules: Modify Role. Add another owner before removing the last one if you want to preserve decentralized management.
Q: If I create a Schedule, am I automatically the owner?
A: Yes. The User who creates a Schedule is set as that Schedule's owner by default. You can remove yourself as owner later if needed.
Q: Can I see who owns a Schedule without editing it?
A: Yes. The Schedules list view shows owner information, and you can filter or sort by owner to find Schedules belonging to a specific person.
