Overview
The Library is where Mobaro stores reference material — manuals (PDFs) and videos — that operators can pull up while running a Checklist. Once content lives in the Library, you link it to specific Checklist questions, and the User sees it in their mobile app exactly when they need it. The benefit over linking PDFs directly into Checklists: when a manual is updated, you replace the file in the Library once and every Checklist referencing it picks up the new version automatically.
Why this matters: Without the Library, every Checklist that references a manual stores its own copy. When the manufacturer ships a manual update, someone has to find every Checklist referencing it and replace the file in each. With the Library, you replace the file once and you're done.
Required access: Creating Library content and linking it to Checklists requires Library: Create and Checklists: Edit in your Role (Super Users have both by default).
What's in the Library
The Library holds two content types:
Manuals — PDF documents (manufacturer manuals, SOPs, regulatory documents, training references).
Videos — embedded YouTube or Vimeo links (training videos, walkthroughs, demos).
Both are organized into Folders and Sub-folders that you define. Whatever structure you build on the web Backend is mirrored exactly on the mobile app — Users see the same folder hierarchy you set up.
Setting up Library Folders
Folders are the organizational layer. Build them before you start uploading content so the structure stays clean.
1. Go to the Library tab
Open the Library module from the Mobaro Backend.
2. Create your first Folder
Click your organization at the root and select Create folder. Give it a name that reflects content type or owner — for example, Ride manufacturer manuals, Aquatics SOPs, Training videos.
3. Add Sub-folders as needed
Select an existing Folder and click + to nest a Sub-folder underneath. There's no hard limit on depth, but keep it shallow enough that operators can navigate quickly on mobile.
Best practice: Organize by content type first, then by department or asset. A typical structure: Manufacturer manuals → Coasters / Flat rides / Water rides. Internal SOPs → Maintenance / F&B / Aquatics. Training videos → New hire / Refresher. This makes content findable both from the Backend and from the mobile app.
Adding a manual
A manual is a single PDF file (or a set of versions of one PDF, see below) plus optional Sections that target specific page ranges.
1. Open the target Folder
Click into the Folder where the manual should live.
2. Create the manual entry
Enter a name and a description. Names should be specific — operators see them in their mobile Library, so "Coaster X — Operator manual v3.2" beats "manual".
3. Upload the PDF
Drop in the PDF file. This creates the first version of the manual.
4. Save
The manual is now available to be linked to Checklist questions.
Note: A single manual can have multiple Sections (page ranges) and multiple Versions (e.g., language variants). Both are advanced and worth their own treatment — see Manual Sections and Versions — advanced Library content.
Adding a video
Videos are embedded from YouTube or Vimeo — Mobaro doesn't host the video itself, just the link.
1. Open the target Folder
Click into the Folder where the video should live.
2. Create the video entry
Enter a name and a description.
3. Add a version with a video link
Click + to add a version, then paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL. Mobaro pulls the video metadata automatically. Rename the version if you have multiple language tracks or revisions.
4. Save
The video is now available to be linked to Checklist questions.
Linking Library content to a Checklist question
Once content is in the Library, attach it to specific Checklist questions so operators see it inline while running the Checklist.
1. Open the Checklist and find the question
Navigate to the Checklist and click the specific question you want to attach reference material to.
2. Click Add manual or Add video
Both buttons appear in the question editor. Pick the one matching the content type.
3. Pick the content from the Library tree
A picker opens showing your Folder structure. Select the manual or video.
4. For manuals, optionally pick a Section
If the manual has Sections defined, you can target a specific Section instead of the full PDF — useful when only pages 14–20 are relevant to this question.
5. Confirm and save
Press OK to attach, then save the Checklist.
Common patterns
Pattern: manufacturer manual mirror
A Maintenance team uploads the manufacturer manual for each ride into a Manufacturer manuals Folder, with one Sub-folder per ride. Sections within each manual map to inspection categories (electrical, mechanical, restraints, brakes). Each safety inspection Checklist question links to the relevant Section so technicians see the right pages instantly.
Pattern: SOP library for new hires
F&B has a Folder per location with PDFs of standard operating procedures (open, close, transition between meal periods). New hires running their training Checklist see the SOPs attached to each step.
Pattern: video walkthrough for setup tasks
Aquatics has a Pool chemistry training Folder with short YouTube videos showing the test-strip procedure. The morning chemistry Checklist links to the video at the relevant question, so operators can re-watch if they're new to the role.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Can I link Library content to multiple Checklist questions at once?
A: No — linking is per-question. The benefit is that when you update the file in the Library, every linked question pulls the new version automatically, so you only do the work once.
Q: What happens to existing Checklists if I delete Library content?
A: The links break. Delete only when nothing references the content. To audit references before deleting, search Checklists for the manual or video name.
Q: Can operators upload to the Library from the mobile app?
A: No. The Library is curated from the Backend by Users with the Library: Create permission. This is intentional — operators consume content; admins manage it.
Q: Are there file-size limits for PDFs?
A: Yes, large PDFs (hundreds of MB) can hurt mobile load times. If a manual is huge, consider whether Sections (page-range targeting) would let operators load only the relevant pages.
Q: Can I host videos directly in Mobaro instead of YouTube/Vimeo?
A: No — videos must come from YouTube or Vimeo. For private content, set the YouTube/Vimeo video to unlisted so only people with the link (i.e., your operators via Mobaro) can view it.
