Overview
The Certification Center is where you, as a frontline User, manage your qualifications in the Mobaro mobile app: see the Competencies you hold, check what's expiring, and earn new Certifications by completing a Certification Process. If you're an assessor, it's also where you complete Certifications on behalf of others. This article is the staff-facing companion to the admin setup covered in Utilizing Competencies.
Why this matters: Your Competencies decide what you're allowed to do — which Checklists you can complete and which RideOps positions you can take. Keeping them current in the Certification Center is what keeps you cleared to work.
Open the Certification Center
Open the Mobaro mobile app and tap Certification Center from the main menu.
See the Competencies you hold
Your held Competencies and their current status appear under your Competencies. Each shows whether it's currently valid and, where applicable, when it expires.
Note: Expired Certifications are hidden by default to keep the view clean. Toggle the visibility setting to include expired ones when you need to see your full history — see visibility and retention of user certifications.
Earn a Certification by completing a Process
Open the available Processes
In the Certification Center, find the Certification Processes available to you. These are the qualifications you've been assigned and are eligible to complete.
Start the Process
Select an available Process and work through the assigned Checklist or task sequence.
Receive the Competency
Once you complete every step — and a reviewer validates it, where validation is required — the linked Competency is awarded automatically and appears under your Competencies.
Heads up: If the Process requires validation, your Competency isn't granted the instant you finish — it waits for a reviewer to approve your completed Checklist. Until then, it shows as pending rather than awarded.
Complete a Certification for someone else (assessors)
If you've been set as an assessor on a peer-assessed Process, you'll see an Assess others area in your Certification Center. From there you can view and complete Certifications on behalf of the people you assess — for supervisor sign-offs and in-field observations. The person being assessed receives their Competency once you complete the assessment. See Allow peer assessments in certification processes.
Renewals
When a Certification is due for renewal, its Process becomes available again in the Certification Center so you can retake it. Complete the reactivated Process — including any required validation — before the Certification expires to stay qualified without a gap.
Best practice: Check the Certification Center periodically for anything marked expiring soon, and complete renewals early. A lapsed Certification can take you out of a RideOps position or block a Checklist mid-shift.
Frequently asked questions
Q: I completed a Process but don't have the Competency yet. Why?
A: The Process likely requires validation. Your completed Checklist is waiting for a reviewer to approve it; the Competency is awarded once they do.
Q: A Checklist I expected isn't showing up. Could it be a Competency issue?
A: Yes. If the Checklist's Schedule requires a Competency you don't currently hold, it won't appear. Check whether you hold the required Competency and whether it's expired.
Q: Why can't I see a Certification I earned a while ago?
A: It may have expired and be hidden by default. Toggle to include expired Certifications to see it.
Q: I'm an assessor — why don't I see "Assess others"?
A: That area appears only when you're set as an assessor on a peer-assessed Process. If it's missing, you may not be assigned as an assessor yet — check with the admin who configured the Process.
