Setting up note templates

Create Note Templates to make logging Notes on RideOps faster and more consistent — pre-filling a Note's Title, description, and Type.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Note Templates let you predefine Notes for fast, consistent logging on RideOps. A Template pre-fills a Note's Title, description, and Type, so an operator can log a common observation — a guest spill, a sticking gate latch, a weather hold — in a couple of taps instead of typing it out each time. That's what makes recurring Notes actually get logged consistently, with the same Title and Type every time.

Users must be Super Users or have the following to create and manage Note Templates:

  • Organization: Administrate

Create a Note Template

In the Mobaro Backend, go to Configuration and open the RideOps tab, then click + under Note Templates. Fill in the Template: the Title and description (the pre-filled text, which operators can still edit when they use it), the Note Type it applies, optionally the Locations to limit it to, and a Color for how it appears in RideOps.

Note: You need at least one Note Type before you can create a Template. See Setting up Note Types.

Note Templates in RideOps

Once saved, a Template is available on all RideOps-enabled Locations — unless you limited it to specific Locations. Operators can still create regular, non-template Notes; Templates simply give them a quick-select shortcut. When an operator picks a Template, they can adjust the Title, description, and Type before saving.

Operators can still create Notes that aren't based on a Template.

Selecting a Template pre-fills the Note; the operator can change the description and Type as needed.

Best practice: Template the handful of Notes your operators log most often, with clear Titles and the right Type. That's where Templates save the most time and keep your Notes data consistent.
