Setting up the RideOps app as a PWA on tablets

Install the RideOps Progressive Web App on tablets, Android, and iOS by adding rideops.mobaro.com to the home screen, for a full-screen, offline-capable app without an app-store download.

Overview

The RideOps app is a Progressive Web App (PWA) served from rideops.mobaro.com. Installing it to a device's home screen gives Operators a full-screen, app-like experience — with offline support — without a dedicated app-store download.

Why this matters: Adding RideOps to the home screen turns a browser tab into a dedicated kiosk-style app. Operators tap one icon to start their shift, the interface runs full-screen without browser chrome in the way, and brief connectivity drops don't stop the ride — the app keeps working offline and syncs when the connection returns.

Installing on a tablet

1. Open the RideOps URL

Launch a browser (Chrome or Safari) on the tablet, go to rideops.mobaro.com, and log in with your credentials.

2. Add to home screen

In Chrome, tap the menu (top right) and select Add to Home Screen. In Safari, tap the Share icon and choose Add to Home Screen.

3. Name and confirm

Keep the default "RideOps" name or rename it, then tap Add to place the shortcut on the home screen.

Note: Once installed, the PWA runs full-screen and supports offline use, behaving like a native app.

Installing on Android

Android supports PWAs natively through Chrome.

1. Open Chrome

Launch Chrome and go to rideops.mobaro.com.

2. Install the app

Tap the menu (top right) and select Install App or Add to Home Screen, then follow the on-screen prompts.

Best practice: After installing on Android, the RideOps PWA appears in the app drawer and task switcher just like a native app — pin it to the device's dock for one-tap access at the start of a shift.

Installing on iOS

iOS supports PWAs through Safari.

1. Open Safari

Launch Safari and go to rideops.mobaro.com.

2. Add to home screen

Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen, scroll down, and select Add to Home Screen.

3. Name and confirm

Keep the default "RideOps" name or rename it, then tap Add.

Q: What devices are compatible?
