Overview
With RideOps, you can log and track the Operators and Attendants working at a Location in real time. The foundation is two things you configure per Location: Positions (the roles that need staffing) and Attendants (the people who can fill them).
Users must be Super Users or have the following Roles to manage Attendants and Positions:
Locations: Modify
User Groups: View
Why this matters: Mandatory Positions tie staffing to a ride's readiness — a Location can't open until they're filled by qualified people. That turns "is this ride properly staffed?" from a manual check into something the system enforces.
Creating a Position
Positions are the roles to staff at a RideOps Location. Each can be mandatory (must be filled before the ride is "Ready to Operate") or optional (no impact on readiness).
Go to
Locations, select a Location, and clickEdit.Scroll to the RideOps section and click
RideOps Settings. In the Positions section, click
Add Position.Provide a Position Name, optional description, whether it's mandatory or optional, and any required Competencies to work it.
Click
Saveand repeat as needed.
Note: Mandatory Positions must be staffed before a Location can be registered as "Ready for Operation" — if one is unfilled, Operators can't open the Location via RideOps.
Defining Attendants
Attendants are the Users who can work a Location's Positions (separate from the Operator role). You log them into one or more Positions.
Go to
Locations, select the Location, and clickEdit. In
RideOps Settings, scroll to the Attendants section.Add Users and/or User Groups as Attendants, and set any Required Competencies for attending this Location.
Note: Required Competencies set on the Attendants section apply in addition to any Competencies on an individual Position.
Critical: When you add a User Group as Attendants, every member can attend this Location regardless of normal Location membership.
