Overview
A Summary Report is a Notification Rule that emails a daily, weekly or monthly digest of activity at the Locations you choose: how many Checklists were completed, missed or are awaiting validation, and how many Assignments were created and resolved. View buttons in the email open the matching list in the Backend. It answers "how did we do yesterday, last week or last month?" without anyone opening Mobaro.
This article covers the Summary Report only. For the other rule types and how rules are managed, see Create and manage Notification Rules.

💡 Why this matters: Managers rarely need every Result — they need the shape of the day. One recurring Summary Report gives a Park Director or area lead the totals for their area, with a click-through to anything that needs a closer look, instead of a flooded inbox.
What's in a Summary Report
The email, titled Activity Summary unless you set your own subject, shows the period it covers and two blocks of counts:
Checklists — Completed, Missed and Awaiting Validation.
Assignments — Created and Resolved.
The Summary Report shows counts, not a list. Use the View buttons to open the completed Results, missed Results or created Assignments behind the numbers. Missed counts every scheduled Checklist that went missing in the period, including ones that have since been approved or rescheduled.
ℹ️ Note: Counts are taken when the email is generated. A Result still stored on a device that hasn't synced isn't counted yet, and its Checklist can show as missed. The email doesn't update afterwards, but the View links show the current data once the device uploads.
Set up a Summary Report
1. Start the rule
Go to Notification Rules, click the + button (Create) and choose Summary Report. In the Rule section, enter a Name and, optionally, a Description.
2. Set the subject
In the Email section, enter a Subject, or leave it blank to use the default subject, Activity Summary.
3. Choose the schedule
In Scheduling, pick the time zone under Select Time Zone and a Frequency. The time zone decides where each day, week or month starts and ends, so match it to the Locations you report on.
Daily — covers the previous day and sends shortly after midnight.
Weekly — choose a Weekday. The report covers the 7 days up to the start of that weekday and sends then.
Monthly — covers the previous calendar month and sends shortly after it ends.
⚠️ Heads-up: You can't change the time zone once the rule is saved. To use a different time zone, create a new Summary Report and delete or disable the old one.
4. Choose Locations, recipients and Checklists
In Limitations, fill in:
Targets (required) — the Locations and Location Groups to report on.
Recipients (required) — the Users and User Groups who receive the email.
Limit to these checklists — leave it blank to include all Checklists.
Skip when empty — on by default. No email is sent for a period with no activity.
5. Save
Save the rule. It's active straight away and sends at the end of the current period. To pause it, select it in Notification Rules and click Disable.
Who receives what
Each recipient gets their own email, built from what they can see in Mobaro:
Recipients must be members of a Target Location. A recipient who isn't a member of at least one of the rule's Target Locations, directly or through a User Group, gets no email. This applies to Super Users too.
Counts follow the recipient's access. Each recipient's counts only include Results and Assignments they have access to at the Target Locations.
Recipients need an email address. Users without one are skipped.
For example, a rule targets Location 1 and Location 2 and is sent to a User Group. A member of Location 1 only gets the counts for Location 1; a member of both gets both. One rule can serve a whole team, each person seeing their own area.
Best practices
Target broadly and let each recipient's Location access trim the content, rather than creating one rule per team.
Use User Groups as Recipients, so the rule stays current as teams change.
Keep Skip when empty on for seasonal or low-activity areas, so quiet periods don't send "nothing to report" emails.
Pick the time zone of the Locations you report on before you save, since it can't be changed later.
Frequently asked questions
Can a summary report list all the missing checklists for a location?
No. It shows how many Checklists were missed in the period, and its View button opens the missed Results in the Backend. Reviewers who can validate missing results can also turn on the Missed results digest in their notification settings.
Someone is added to the summary report but isn't receiving it. Why?
Most often they aren't a member of any of the rule's Targets Locations, directly or through a User Group. Also check the rule isn't disabled, that the User has an email address, and that Skip when empty didn't skip a quiet period.
Do users need to be assigned to the checklists to get a detailed summary report?
No. Being an assignee or reviewer doesn't matter. Recipients need membership of a Target Location, and their counts include only the Results and Assignments they can access there.
Can I change the time zone of an existing summary report?
No. The time zone is fixed once the rule is saved. Create a new Summary Report with the right time zone, then disable or delete the old one.
What's the difference between a Summary Report and a Result Report?
A Summary Report emails activity counts on a schedule. A Result Report emails individual Results as they happen. See How to set up a result report and the Report selection guide.
