Overview
An Availability Notification is a Notification Rule that sends a push notification to the assignees of the Calendar Schedules you choose when their scheduled Checklists become available. It's the "you can start this now" prompt on the phone — there's no email.
This article covers the Availability Notification only. For the other rule types and how rules are managed, see Create and manage Notification Rules.

💡 Why this matters: A scheduled Checklist that nobody notices becomes a missed Checklist. An Availability Notification prompts exactly the people due to do the work, when it opens, so slots get done instead of slipping.
Who receives it
An Availability Notification has no recipient list. It goes to the assignees of the Schedule — assigned Users and the members of assigned User Groups — who are members of the Checklist's Location. To change who gets it, change the Schedule's assignees, not the rule.
It's push-only, so each assignee must be signed in to the Mobaro app on a device that allows notifications from it. There's no personal notification setting for availability pushes. The push is titled Checklist(s) Available and names the Checklist and Location, for example "Daily Inspection is now available for Big Wheel".
Set up an Availability Notification
1. Start the rule
Go to Notification Rules, click the + button (Create) and choose Availability Notification.
2. Name the rule
In the Rule section, enter a Name and, optionally, a Description.
3. Choose the Schedules
In Limitations, add the Schedules under Limit to these schedules. At least one is required, and only Calendar Schedules can be added.
4. Save
Save the rule. It's active straight away. To pause it, select it in Notification Rules and click Disable; Enable turns it back on.
ℹ️ Note: Availability Notifications are sent in 5-minute intervals, so they can arrive a few minutes after the Checklist becomes available. If several are due in the same interval, they're grouped into one push. Nothing is sent for a slot whose Checklists are already done.
Ad Hoc Slots and reminders
Availability Notification rules only cover Calendar Schedules. For an Ad Hoc Slot, or a missed Checklist you reschedule, tick Notify assignees when scheduled checklist(s) becomes available on the slot itself.
Reminders are separate: they're set on a Schedule's slots and push to the assignees whether or not the Schedule is in an Availability Notification rule. See Adding reminders to Schedules.
⚠️ Heads-up: Don't rely on an Availability Notification alone for very short slots. With the 5-minute interval, a push for a slot that's open for only a few minutes can arrive when there's little time left.
Best practices
Use Availability Notifications for Checklists people might not expect — monthly walks, annual inspections — rather than for every daily Schedule, so pushes aren't ignored.
Assign User Groups on the Schedule, so notifications follow team changes without editing the rule.
Ask staff to stay signed in to the Mobaro app and allow its notifications on their device.
Frequently asked questions
Where do schedule reminders go?
To the Schedule's assignees, as push notifications in the Mobaro app. Reminders are set on the Schedule's slots and don't need an Availability Notification rule. See Adding reminders to Schedules.
Is the availability notification an email or a push notification on my phone?
A push notification only. Assignees need the Mobaro app, signed in, with notifications allowed on the device. For emails about Checklists, use a Result Report.
Push notifications are switched on, but I don't get notified when checklists become available. Why?
Your personal notification settings don't control this push. Check that the Schedule is in an enabled Availability Notification rule, that you're an assignee directly or through a User Group, and that you're a member of the Checklist's Location.
Can I get a notification when a checklist from a continuous schedule is used?
No. Availability Notifications only cover Calendar Schedules, plus Ad Hoc Slots with their own notify option. Continuous Schedules have no slots, so nothing becomes available.
Can I get notified if a scheduled checklist isn't completed?
Not with this rule — it only announces availability. See "Can I get notified when a checklist is missed?" in Create and manage Notification Rules.
