Overview
A grace period is extra time after a slot's deadline in which the Checklist can still be completed. You add it with Allow grace period and set when it ends with End of grace period. Use it when work sometimes runs late but should still be recorded, rather than going missing.
A grace period doesn't make late work count as on time. Once the deadline passes, the Checklist is overdue. It becomes a Missing Result only if it still isn't completed when the grace period ends.

⚠️ Heads-up: A Checklist completed during the grace period is overdue, not on time. If the Schedule has Require timely answer ticked, the Result is flagged as answered too late and needs validation. If it's Is critical for operation with When overdue, the Location turns red at the deadline, not at the end of the grace period — see Understanding criticality settings with schedules.
Add a grace period
1. Open the Schedule or Calendar
In the Mobaro Backend, go to Schedules and open the Calendar Schedule. For a master Calendar, go to Schedules › Calendars.
2. Open a Pattern or Specific
In the calendar view, click Patterns and add or edit a Pattern, or click a date to open Configure Specific.
3. Allow the grace period
Tick Allow grace period and set the End of grace period. It can't be before the slot's deadline.
4. Save
Click Save Changes.
Ad Hoc Slots have the same Allow grace period option in the General section of Configure Ad Hoc Slot — see How to use Ad Hoc Slots. You can also set one when you reschedule a Missing Result, and an Ad Hoc Slot Trigger can set one with Set grace period to.
Limits and behavior
A Pattern's grace period must end on the same day the slot starts. For slots that run overnight, use a Specific.
Continuous Schedules have no slots, so they have no deadline or grace period.
A grace period applies to every Location and Asset the Schedule targets.
Schedules that inherit a master Calendar get the grace periods set on its Patterns and Specifics.
In the calendar view, the Show full slot length (include grace period) button displays each slot including its grace period.
Best practices
Use a grace period rather than a later deadline when you want a target time with some slack before the Checklist goes missing.
Add a Reminder before the deadline so Assignees finish on time rather than relying on the grace period — see Adding reminders to Schedules.
For critical checks, choose the criticality mode deliberately: When overdue blocks operation during the grace period; When missing doesn't.
Frequently asked questions
My checklist is critical for operation and the ride can't open during the grace period. Why?
With Is critical for operation set to When overdue, the Location turns red at the deadline — when the grace period starts. Choose When missing to keep it green until the grace period ends. See Understanding criticality settings with schedules.
Is a checklist completed during the grace period counted as on time?
No. It's completed after the deadline, so it's overdue. If Require timely answer is ticked, the Result is flagged as answered too late and needs validation. The grace period only stops the Checklist from becoming a Missing Result.
Can a grace period run past midnight into the next day?
Not on a Pattern: its deadline and grace period must end on the same day as it starts. Use a Specific instead, which has its own end date and time. See How to schedule a Checklist.
When I inherit a master Calendar, do its grace periods come with it?
Yes. The grace period is part of each Pattern and Specific, so Schedules that inherit the Calendar get the same deadlines and grace periods. Change them on the master Calendar. See Inheriting a master Calendar into Schedules.
Can I give just one attraction a longer grace period?
No. A Schedule's slots, including their grace periods, apply to every Location and Asset it targets. Put that attraction on its own Schedule with its own grace period.
