Overview
The Mobaro mobile app can connect to a Bluetooth thermometer, so a Temperature Question in a Checklist can take its reading straight from the probe instead of someone typing it in. You connect the thermometer once from your Profile, and the app reconnects to it automatically.
Bluetooth in Mobaro is only for thermometers. The app connects to one thermometer at a time; other Bluetooth devices, such as barcode scanners or sensors, can't be connected.

💡 Why this matters: A reading taken by the probe goes straight into the Result, with no misread digits or typos. That matters most for food-safety and water-temperature checks, where a wrong number can hide a real problem.
Which thermometers work
The app looks only for Bluetooth Low Energy thermometers that use the standard Bluetooth Health Thermometer service; other devices don't appear when you scan. Mobaro lists the Comark BT125KC and BT125W as supported. Check with your CSM before buying a different model.
Connect a thermometer
1. Get the thermometer ready
Turn on Bluetooth on your phone or tablet and switch on the thermometer. The first time, allow Mobaro to use Bluetooth when your device asks.
2. Open Bluetooth in your Profile
In the Mobaro app, open your Profile and tap Bluetooth.
3. Tap Scan
Tap Scan. The app shows Scanning for devices and lists the thermometers in range. Scan only appears when no thermometer is saved in the app, even a disconnected one; to switch to another one, remove the current one first.
4. Tap Connect
Tap Connect next to your thermometer. It then shows as Connected.... The app remembers it and reconnects when you next open the app with the thermometer switched on and in range.
Take a reading on a Temperature Question
A Temperature Question offers two buttons: Input Temperature to type the value, and Use Device to take it from the thermometer.
Tap Use Device. The Temperature Reader shows your thermometer and Please use the thermometer.
Take the measurement. The value appears under Temperature Reading.
Tap Save. It's only available once a reading has arrived.
If no thermometer is connected, the reader shows No device has been connected; tap Open Bluetooth Devices to connect one. If Bluetooth is off, it shows Bluetooth is currently disabled. For scoring, triggers and units on this question, see Temperature Question Type.
ℹ️ Note: If the app says Please update your app to the latest version to get support for Bluetooth thermometers., update the Mobaro app — see How to download and update the Mobaro mobile app.
Remove or replace a thermometer
Open your Profile, tap Bluetooth and tap Remove Device. The app disconnects and forgets the thermometer, and Scan appears so you can connect another one.
⚠️ Heads-up: If the thermometer goes out of range or its battery runs down, the app shows Connection Lost: with its name, and the thermometer shows as Disconnected.... You can still answer with Input Temperature, but check the probe before the next reading.
Best practices
Keep one thermometer paired with each phone or tablet, and label them together, so staff don't have to reconnect before every check.
Remove the thermometer in the app before handing a probe to someone on another device.
Check the probe's battery at the start of the day; a weak battery shows up as dropped connections.
Use Input Temperature as a fallback when the probe isn't available, rather than skipping the question.
Frequently asked questions
Which Bluetooth measuring devices does Mobaro support?
Bluetooth thermometers only. The app connects to Bluetooth Low Energy thermometers that use the standard Health Thermometer service; Mobaro lists the Comark BT125KC and BT125W. Scanners, scales and other sensors can't be connected.
How do I record a temperature?
Add a Temperature Question to the Checklist. In the app, tap Use Device to take the reading from a connected thermometer, or Input Temperature to type it. See Temperature Question Type.
My thermometer doesn't show up when I scan. What should I check?
Make sure it's switched on, in range and uses the Health Thermometer service, and that Bluetooth is on and allowed for Mobaro. If Scan is missing, a thermometer is already saved (connected or not): tap Remove Device first.
Can I pair more than one Bluetooth device?
No. The app holds one thermometer at a time. To unpair it or use another, tap Remove Device in Profile › Bluetooth, then scan and connect the new one.
Can I connect a Bluetooth barcode scanner?
No. Bluetooth in Mobaro is only for thermometers. Scanner Questions and scanner codes use the device's camera — see How to utilize scanner codes.
