Log book in the app

Read a Location's Activities in the Mobaro app's Operations tile: what Today and Planned show, entry details, and why a connection is needed.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

In the Mobaro app, each Location in the Operations tile has an Activities section: the log book for that Location. It lists what has happened today, such as openings, sign-ins, Notes and Downtimes, and what is planned for the coming week, so a supervisor at the ride can catch up without opening the Backend.

For what the log book is and how the app, RideOps and the Backend compare, see Log book — activity timelines across Mobaro.

Open Activities in the app

1. Open the Operations tile

On the app’s home screen, tap Operations. The tile lists the Locations with Operational Logging that you can open and close. See Utilizing Operational Logging.

2. Tap the Location

The Location’s detail view opens with its readiness, status and figures: Uptime, Downtime and Downtimes, plus Guests, Dispatches and Queue time on RideOps Locations.

3. Choose Today or Planned

Below the figures, tap the time range selector and pick Today or Planned. On RideOps Locations, Today also shows the Staff section with who is signed in.

4. Expand the list

In Today, the list starts collapsed: tap the Activities heading, which shows how many activities there are, to expand it. In Planned, each day is already expanded. Tap an entry to show its details.

What Today shows

Today lists activity since midnight on your device, newest first. Each entry shows what happened, how long ago and who did it, for example Opened location — 3 hours ago by a User.

The Downtime, and its Assignment

Only Assignments raised from operations at the Location, such as from Notes and Downtimes, appear; ones created by hand, from a Schedule or through the API don’t. The icon colour flags the outcome, for example an approved Note or resolved Downtime versus a rejected Note or a disapproved Result. Dispatches and queue times don’t appear in the app; they’re in the figures above and in the Operational Log on the web.

What Planned shows

Planned lists what’s coming from now until the end of the seventh day ahead, grouped by day, soonest first:

  • Scheduled checklist: the Location’s RideOps Preopening and Closing Checklists at its opening and closing times. See Add opening hours to a Location.

  • Assignment planned: unfinished Assignments from operations at the Location, such as from Notes and Downtimes, that have a start and due date, with when they end.

Planned doesn’t list Checklists from your Schedules. The Staff section is hidden in this view.

⚠️ Heads-up: Activities are loaded live every time you open them and aren’t stored on the device. Without a connection, the Operations tile shows no connection, and if loading fails you’ll see Activities could not be loaded. Tap to retry.

Best practices

  • Check Today before opening a ride, to see Notes and Downtimes from earlier in the day.

  • Use Planned at shift start to see which Assignments are due at the Location this week.

  • For earlier days, filters or dispatch data, use the web Operational Log.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see the last breakdowns of a ride in the mobile app?

Only today’s. Today shows Downtimes started and resolved since midnight. For earlier Downtimes, use the Backend Operational Log with a time range, or see Managing Downtime and uptime from the mobile app.

Does Activities work offline?

No. Activities are loaded live each time and aren’t cached. Offline, the Operations tile shows no connection; when a load fails, tap Activities could not be loaded. Tap to retry. once you’re back online.

Why doesn’t Planned show the Checklists in my Schedules?

Planned only lists the Location’s RideOps Preopening and Closing Checklists and unfinished Assignments. Scheduled Checklists appear in the app’s Checklists area, not in the log book.

Can I filter Activities by type or user in the app?

No. The app only switches between Today and Planned. To filter by activity type, time range or User, use Log book on the web — the Operational Log dialog.

Can I add a Note from the Activities section?

No. Create the Note as usual; it then appears in Activities as Note created. See Creating and managing Notes.
