Overview
Mobaro signs you in with your email address. You enter your email first, and Mobaro then either asks for your Mobaro password or, if your organization uses single sign-on (SSO), sends you to your company's sign-in page. The same account works in the web Backend and in the Mobaro app.
This article explains each sign-in step, the one-time password upgrade, staying signed in, and what the sign-in messages mean. To reset a forgotten password, see Change or reset your Mobaro password. To fix a specific problem, see How do I troubleshoot login issues or disabled accounts in Mobaro?

⚠️ Heads-up: The first time you sign in after Mobaro's sign-in upgrade, use your current password. Mobaro moves it over for you and then asks you to choose a new one. You don't need to reset your password first.
Sign in step by step
1. Enter your email
On the web, enter the email address on your Mobaro user in Email and click LOG IN. In the app, enter it in Email and tap Next. Your email is your username: there's no separate username.
2. Enter your password or use your company sign-in
With a Mobaro password, the web shows Enter password and the app shows Signing in as with your email. Enter your Password, then click LOG IN on the web or tap Login in the app. To use a different email, click your email address at the top on the web, or tap Sign in with another account in the app.
With single sign-on, Mobaro sends you to your company's sign-in page instead. This starts as soon as your SSO invitation has been sent, even if you haven't opened the invitation email. Sign in there and you're returned to Mobaro. Your password is managed by your company. See Controlling SSO access with user groups.
3. Choose an organization
If you belong to more than one Mobaro organization, pick one under Select organization on the web or Select Organization in the app. With more than 10, you can search. On the web, your choice applies to that browser tab. If you belong to one organization, Mobaro skips this step. You can switch later from the organization menu in the Backend toolbar or Profile › Change Organization in the app.
The one-time password upgrade
Mobaro has upgraded how it checks passwords. Users who sign in with a Mobaro password are moved over the first time they sign in after the upgrade:
Sign in as usual with your email and current password.
Mobaro checks the password, moves it to the new sign-in and signs you in.
Mobaro asks you to choose a new password. The web shows Change Password with Your password has expired. You have to change your password before you can continue. The app shows Password Expired. Enter your current password and a new one that meets the password requirements. You can't continue without it.
Update the Mobaro app before you sign in: older versions can't complete the move. If Mobaro shows An unknown error occured, please try again., wait a minute and sign in again. If it keeps failing, use Forgot password? to set a new password. Users who sign in with SSO aren't affected.
Staying signed in and signing out
Sessions. Mobaro keeps you signed in and renews your session in the background, on the web and in the app. When a session can't be renewed, you're returned to the sign-in screen and sign in again.
Signing out on the web. Click Logout in the toolbar.
Signing out in the app. Tap your profile picture on the home screen, then Logout. If items are still waiting to upload, the app warns you with Pending upload(s): they upload only when the same User signs in again on that device.
Shared devices. Your organization can make the app ask Logged in as {name} after a set time, so the next person doesn't work under your name. See Configuring app settings and app area availability rules.
Sign-in messages
Message | What it means and what to do |
Incorrect email or password. (web) or Username and password do not match. (app) | The email or the password is wrong. Mobaro doesn't say which, and shows the same message when no User has that email. Check the email character by character, or use Forgot password?. |
An unknown error occured, please try again. | The sign-in didn't complete, for example during the password upgrade or when many people sign in at once from the same network. Wait a minute and try again, then use Forgot password? if it repeats. |
An unknown error occurred on the organization screen after signing in (web) | Mobaro couldn't find a User for the account you signed in with. Ask a Super User to check that your Mobaro user has the same email as your company account. |
Your account has been disabled (web) or Your user has been disabled (app) | You're disabled in every organization you belong to. In the app, this also shows when Mobaro can't find your User. Ask a Super User to enable you. See How to deactivate a User. |
Your password has expired… (web) or Password Expired (app) | Choose a new password. This follows the password upgrade, a password someone set for you with Force user to change password at next login, or your organization's password expiry. |
Find Users who haven't moved over
Super Users can list the Users who still need to sign in after the upgrade. On Administrate › Users, click Download list of users not yet migrated to new sign-in (the download icon), then Create list. It usually takes one to two minutes; keep the window open. If everyone has moved over, Mobaro tells you there's no list to download.
The CSV file lists each User's Display name, Email, External id, Status (Active or Deactivated), Last sign-in (UTC) and Last product activity (UTC), the last time they completed a Checklist. Ask the people on it to sign in once with their current password.
Best practices
Update the Mobaro app on every device before staff sign in after the upgrade.
Sign in with your current password rather than resetting it: Mobaro moves it over for you.
Give everyone their own Mobaro user and email, and turn on current-user prompts on shared devices.
Super Users: download the list of Users not yet moved over, and follow up with anyone who still needs to sign in.
Keep each User's email address up to date, so they can reset their own password.
Frequently asked questions
I get "An unknown error occurred" when I sign in or reset my password. What do I do?
Update the app, wait a minute and sign in with your current password. If that fails, use Forgot password?. SSO users reset their password with their company. Otherwise, a Super User can set a new password for you; see Change or reset your Mobaro password.
I was logged out and now I can't get back in. What should I do?
Enter your email, then your current password. If Mobaro asks you to choose a new password, do so: that's the one-time upgrade. If the password isn't accepted, use Forgot password?, or see How do I troubleshoot login issues or disabled accounts in Mobaro?
Why am I being asked to change my password after signing in?
Because your password was just moved to the new sign-in, someone set it for you and ticked Force user to change password at next login, or your organization's passwords expire. Enter your current password and a new one to continue.
Why am I sent to my company's sign-in page instead of a password box?
Your organization has invited you to single sign-on (SSO). Once the invitation is sent, Mobaro sends you to your company's sign-in page, even before you open the email. Sign in with your company account. Contact your IT team if that sign-in fails. See Controlling SSO access with user groups.
