Working in more than one Mobaro organization

Switch your active organization on the web and in the app, and learn what is separate per organization and what stays the same.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

Some people work in more than one Mobaro organization, for example a manager covering two parks, or a company with a separate organization for training. You have one Mobaro user and one password for all of them, and you work in one organization at a time: the active organization. Everything you see and do applies to that organization until you switch.

At a glance

Who can do this

Any User who belongs to more than one organization. Adding a User to another organization: Mobaro

Where

Works on

Backend (web) and Mobile app

Availability

All organizations

💡 Why this matters: Access, data and settings are separate for each organization. Knowing which organization is active explains most "it's gone" and "I can't edit this" questions from people who work in more than one.

Switch organization on the web

1. Open the organization menu

Click the organization's name in the toolbar at the top, or press o on your keyboard. The menu only appears if you belong to more than one organization.

2. Pick the organization

Search or scroll, then click the organization. Mobaro asks you to confirm with Change Active Organization: the page reloads, and unsaved changes are lost. Click OK.

The active organization applies to the browser tab you're in. You can work in two organizations side by side in two tabs. A new tab opens in the organization you chose most recently.

Switch organization in the app

1. Open your profile

Tap your profile picture on the home screen. The organization you're in shows under your name and email.

2. Tap Change Organization

Pick an organization under Select Organization. With more than 10, you can search. The app reloads with that organization's Checklists, Assignments and Locations. Change Organization only shows if you belong to more than one organization.

When you sign in

After you sign in, Mobaro asks you to pick an organization under Select organization on the web or Select Organization in the app. Organizations where you've been disabled aren't listed. See How do I troubleshoot login issues or disabled accounts in Mobaro?

Links to another organization. If you open a link to Results, Missing Results or Assignments in another organization, for example from a Mobaro email, Mobaro shows Content from another organization and offers Change Active Organization. Click it to switch and open the content.

What's separate for each organization

Separate in each organization

The same everywhere

Super User status, Roles, User Groups and Location memberships

Your email, name and password, or your SSO sign-in

Data: Checklists, Results, Assignments, dashboards and the Library

Your language, and your date, time and temperature formats once you personalize them

Disabled status: you can be disabled in one organization and active in another

Your personal notification settings, once you personalize them

Notification rules, organization defaults, logo and colors

Your profile picture

You can't see two organizations' data in one view, for example one dashboard for both parks. Switch organization, or use separate browser tabs. See What is a Mobaro super user? for how Super User status works per organization.

For administrators

  • Editing a User who's in several organizations needs Users › Modify in every organization they belong to. Otherwise Mobaro shows Editing disabled. Disabling them still works, and applies to your organization only. See How to deactivate a User.

  • Adding someone who already has a Mobaro user. Email addresses are unique across Mobaro, so creating them again shows Email is in use. Mobaro Support adds the existing User to your organization.

  • Deleting a User removes them from the active organization only. Their account stays in the other organizations.

  • Roles and User Groups belong to one organization, so give the User the right ones in each. See How access works in Mobaro.

Best practices

  • Check the organization name in the toolbar, or under your name in the app, before you create or change anything.

  • Give organizations clear, distinct names, so people pick the right one at sign-in.

  • Use one browser tab per organization when you compare parks.

  • Ask Mobaro Support to add existing Users to another organization rather than creating a second user with a different email.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change organizations?

On the web, click the organization's name in the toolbar (or press o) and pick one. In the app, tap your profile picture › Change Organization. If neither shows, you belong to one organization only.

Why can't I edit a user, even as a super user?

They also belong to another organization where you don't have Users › Modify. Mobaro shows Editing disabled. Ask someone with that permission in every one of their organizations, or ask Mobaro Support.

Can I see both parks' daily overviews at the same time?

Not in one view: each dashboard shows the active organization only. Open each organization in its own browser tab to see them side by side.

I get notification emails from other parks. Can I stop them for one park only?

Not with personal settings: once personalized, they apply in every organization. Until then, each organization's default applies. Emails from an organization's Notification Rules are set per organization, so ask that organization's administrator to remove you. See Organizational and personal notification settings.

How do I add a user who already exists in another organization?

Contact Mobaro Support with their email and your organization. Email addresses are unique across Mobaro, so you can't create a second user with the same email.
