Overview
A handover note gives Operators information they must read before running the ride. While an active note needs your acknowledgement, RideOps shows Not ready for operation. Read the note and acknowledge it as the signed-in Operator.
This article is for Operators. To create and schedule handover notes, see Handover notes — require operators to acknowledge critical information.

🚀 Early access: Handover notes are an early-access feature that Mobaro turns on per organization. If you never see them in RideOps, ask your administrator; they can request it from your CSM or Mobaro Support.
Acknowledge a handover note
1. Sign in and check the dashboard
When a handover note is waiting for you, the Operation Dashboard shows Not ready for operation and lists the note under Handover notes requiring acknowledgement, together with any other required checks.
2. Tap View and read the note
Tap View next to the note. The note opens with its title, description and type, and the message This note requires acknowledgement by an operator before the ride can continue operating. Read all of it.
3. Tap Acknowledge
Tap Acknowledge. RideOps records that you read the note and checks the ride's status again. When nothing else is outstanding, the dashboard shows Ready for operation and you can open the ride.
If you see Could not acknowledge this note. Please try again., check the tablet's connection and tap Acknowledge again.
🛑 Critical: Acknowledging records that you read the note; it doesn't make the ride safe to operate. If the instruction is unclear or you have a safety concern, follow your site's escalation procedure and check with your supervisor before operating.
When RideOps asks you
Situation | What happens |
You sign in while a note is active that you haven't acknowledged | The ride shows Not ready for operation and can't be opened until you acknowledge it. |
The ride is open and a note becomes active, or you take over an open ride | The dispatch and queue widgets are replaced by Not ready for operation until you acknowledge it. The ride stays open. |
A colleague has acknowledged the note | You still have to. Acknowledgement is recorded per Operator. |
You acknowledged the note before | You aren't asked again, even if the note is active again on another day. |
A note that has just been created can take a few minutes to appear. Tap Refresh Status on the dashboard to check again.
Find handover notes on the Notes page
The Notes icon in the left menu shows a badge with the number of handover notes waiting for you. On the Notes page, they're listed under Handover notes, each marked Pending acknowledgement or Acknowledged. Tap a pending note to read and acknowledge it there.
Best practices
Check for handover notes first thing after you sign in, before the Preopening Checklist.
Read the whole note before you tap Acknowledge; your name and the time are recorded.
When you hand over to another Operator mid-shift, tell them a note is waiting, so dispatching isn't interrupted unexpectedly.
Frequently asked questions
I acknowledged the note, but the ride still won't show as operational. Why?
Something else is holding it. Check the dashboard for Checks that are required, Critical assignments and Positions that require an attendant, and clear each item. A Blocking Downtime or the Preopening Checklist can also hold the ride. Then tap Refresh Status.
Why don't we see handover notes in RideOps?
Handover notes are early access and Mobaro turns them on per organization. Your administrator requests Handover Notes from your CSM or Mobaro Support, then creates the notes in the Backend. See Handover notes.
Do I have to acknowledge a recurring note every day?
No. Each Operator acknowledges a note once, for its whole lifetime, even if it's active every day. Every other Operator still acknowledges it themselves. If something must be confirmed every shift, your administrator creates a new note each time.
The dispatch and queue buttons disappeared while the ride was open. What happened?
A handover note became active, or you signed in to a ride that was already open. Acknowledge the note from the dashboard and the widgets come back. The ride isn't closed in the meantime.
