Resetting the upload queue in the mobile app

Reset a stuck image upload queue by tapping the connection tile ten times. Learn when to use it, what happens to missing photos and what to check next.

Written by Logan Bowlby

Overview

If the Mobaro app has uploads that stay stuck, resetting the image upload queue can help when a missing or unreadable photo is blocking the work. You open this option by tapping the connection tile on the home screen 10 times.

Use this after checking the connection and restarting the app, or when Mobaro Support recommends it. The reset removes broken image references from queued work. It cannot restore missing photos or fix every upload problem.

🛑 Critical: Affected Checklists and Assignments can upload without the missing photos or image answers. If you need that evidence, contact Mobaro Support before confirming the reset. On a shared device, the reset can also affect images queued by other users.

When to use the reset

Consider resetting the image upload queue when all of these apply:

  • The connection tile keeps showing pending uploads without making progress.

  • The device has a working internet connection, and closing and reopening the app has not helped.

  • Missing or unreadable images may be blocking the queue, or Support has asked you to reset it.

A large queue is not automatically stuck. If the number is going down, let the uploads finish. If the tile shows CONNECTION LOST, restore the connection first. Resetting the queue does not reconnect the device.

For the initial checks, see Working online versus offline with Mobaro.

What the reset changes

The image queue reset checks the photos waiting on the device. It keeps queued image files that it can read and that contain data. It removes missing, empty or unreadable files from that queue, and removes the related image references from pending Checklist results and Assignment changes.

It also removes unresolved local image references from pending Checklist results. This lets work that depended on those images continue without them. Photos that are still available remain queued to upload.

This is not Factory Reset and does not sign you out. It does not clear every type of upload, finish saved Checklist progress, or recover deleted photos. The connection tile counts several kinds of queued work, so its number is not a count of Checklists alone.

Reset the image upload queue

1. Find the connection tile

On the affected device, stay signed in as the person whose work is waiting. Open the home screen, Dashboard, and find the connection tile below SUPPORT. While work is uploading, it shows a message such as Uploading 7 items.

2. Tap the tile ten times

Tap the connection tile 10 times. Tap the tile itself, not the refresh icon or the Mobaro logo. The Reset Image Upload Queue? dialog opens.

3. Review and confirm the reset

The dialog says: Do you want to reset the image upload queue? Missing photos will be removed, and uploads will resume.

Tap OK to continue only if you accept that missing image evidence can be removed. Tap Cancel to close the dialog without resetting the queue.

4. Let the remaining work upload

Keep the app open with a working connection. Watch the connection tile to see whether the upload count decreases. You do not need to press refresh after confirming the reset.

When the app is connected and the signed-in user has no pending uploads, the tile shows CONNECTION AVAILABLE. Check the affected Results and Assignments in the Backend as well, including their photos and image answers. An empty queue alone does not prove that every expected record and attachment is present.

On a shared device, the tile only counts uploads for the signed-in user. Other users can still have work waiting on the same device.

If uploads stay stuck

Contact [email protected] if the queue still does not progress, or if a record or attachment is missing after it clears. Send:

  • A screenshot of the connection tile and the approximate time the problem started.

  • The affected user, Checklist or Assignment, and Location.

  • The device type and Mobaro app version.

  • The checks you tried, whether you confirmed the image queue reset, and what changed.

Support may ask for diagnostic information. Avoid repeatedly resetting the queue while waiting for help.

Best practices

  • Use the image queue reset for a persistent upload problem, not as routine cleanup.

  • Do not uninstall the app, clear its data or use Factory Reset while work is waiting to upload. Those actions can delete unsent work.

  • Check the actual records and their evidence after the queue clears.

  • Before handing over a shared device, let the current user’s work finish uploading.

Frequently asked questions

My Checklists still won’t upload after restarting. Should I reset the queue?

Only after checking the connection and allowing time for uploads. The reset can help with missing image files; it is not a general fix for a stuck queue. If the image evidence matters, ask Support to investigate before confirming.

I tried the reset, but nothing changed. What now?

Contact Mobaro Support. Other upload errors can leave work stuck even after an image queue reset. Include the tile screenshot, app version and affected work. Do not keep repeating the reset or reinstall the app.

It won’t let me upload pictures to resolve an Assignment. Will this help?

It may help if the Assignment is already queued and a missing image is blocking it. It does not fix taking or selecting a photo. Tell Support whether you cannot add the picture, cannot save the Assignment, or have saved it but uploads are stuck.
